Over the weekend, I received some news that gave me courage,
so I would like to share it with you.

I'm sure you all already know,

but at the French Open for wheelchair tennis,
Japan's Tokito Oda won the championship.
It is a historic achievement as the youngest winner ever.

It is said that Oda-senshu began using a wheelchair at the age of 9 due to a disease called osteosarcoma.
He overcame such adversity, started wheelchair tennis,

and won the French Open at the young age of 17.
"It's truly amazing..."

Every time I see news about Oda-senshu in newspaper articles or on TV,

I feel so moved that I almost cry.
Oda-senshu said in an interview,

"I want to give courage to boys and girls who have the same disease, osteosarcoma."

I feel that it is wonderful to be able to give courage to people

by working with all your might on what you can do, just like this.

Of course, there must have been truly painful times,
and I believe it is precisely because he overcame them that he is where he is.


I am still a small person, but
I want to continue to work hard

so that I can become a strong personwho can give courage to others like this,
