Death Cafes are also places to talk about the love we have received!

Life & Death Cafe Berry, which changed its time to the evening starting this session
I was wondering what would happen since those who used to come to the daytime sessions on holidays could no longer attend,
but two new people came, and we gained many new discoveries.

As usual, we started by explaining the rules,
and then heard everyone's self-introductions, their purposes for attending, and their expectations.

Right from that point, it was different from our usual cafes.
A warm feeling was drifting in the air.

Usually, we move on to images of death,
but it was clear that the image of death felt warm.

When looking at death, as the organizers, we hope that people will imagine their own death
and reflect on their current lives, but
many people talk about death through the lens of those close to them instead.
From there, feelings for those people emerge, and sometimes it turns into a conversation about grief.

That is fine in itself, but since this is not a place where everyone is there to talk about that,
we need to shift the focus so that the person's feelings are not left behind.

This time, too, it was about death through the loss of a loved one,
but that story was one filled with very deep love.

I host a place to talk about the sorrow of losing a loved one, but
sorrow also becomes deeper because there is love.
There are also emotions that are a little different from that.
Even though there is sorrow from losing a loved one,
there are also people who want to talk more about the love they received from that person
and the way that person lived their life.

I felt that a Death Cafe
can be a place for such people to speak.

I have heard the phrase
that you feel even more love after someone has passed away.
So, there is sadness,
and because of that, there is also a desire to talk about the love received.
Isn't it rare to find a place to talk about that?

Come to think of it, there were people like that before, too.
I hope people will continue to share such stories freely from now on.
