loneliness
walk again
pleasure

Touching someone's world,
paintings are born within me.

My friend Fukuyo Hanaishi
has been cherishing a story for a long time,
and I have expressed it in three paintings.

A lonely, lost child,
starting to walk again,
what they see, what they feel.

Having touched that story,
what I saw, what I felt,
I add lines and colors to it.

To you who are looking at these paintings,
is there anything
that you see or feel?

This story, from here on,
aiming to become a picture book,
I will continue to collaborate
with Ms. Hanaishi.

The works were completed on March 4th.

Three F10-sized pieces.
Using transparent watercolors and colored pencils.
1st piece: "loneliness"
2nd piece: "walk again"
3rd piece: "pleasure"

I thought of the titles together with Fukuyo-san.

The talk of making a picture book started over a year ago.
The original draft is the story within Fukuyo-san.

When I decided to participate in the group exhibition,
I thought I would like to draw this story.
Although there was no completed text,
we shared the worldview through repeated exchanges,
so I was allowed to draw freely, just as I felt.

Creating art
always comes with anxiety and fear, but...
even so,
I felt at ease as I layered the colors.
The colored pencils I have been familiar with for many years, and
the watercolor paints I have gradually become friends with,
I feel they were on my side.
Flowers and animals.
Drawing various motifs
was a lot of fun.

On March 5th, I went to get my work framed.
It is a
frame shop I have been going to for about 10 years.

The same type of frame, in different colors.
Three beautiful colors.
Which color for which painting?
What about the mat?
The staff member kindly helped me decide.
Thanks to them,
they look wonderful!

"Frames are like clothes for paintings, after all."
They also shared those lovely words with me.

Tomorrow is finally the day for installation.
I am really looking forward to seeing
the works of the other participants.

Well then, I'll do my best!!
