Actually, I didn't hate the piano - AC childhood memories 4
Recently,
my daughter started going to piano lessons,
so we bought an electronic piano for our home.
Actually,
I attended piano lessons from the first grade of elementary school
until I entered junior high school.
But,
I hated the piano.
Because my mother said, "You must take lessons,"
I went just as I was told.
Why did my mother
want me to learn piano?
It was
a story from when my mother was in junior college.
Apparently,
piano was a required subject when getting a childcare worker license.
And she had trouble with it.
That was the only reason.
Me?
I didn't particularly want to be a childcare worker.
Piano?
I had no interest in it at all.
In fact, rather than playing the piano,
I preferred singing, dancing,
and chatting.
Even though I really wanted to play with my friends,
I went to lessons while crying.
My mother
made me learn piano
for the reason that
"she had trouble with it herself."
I didn't want to go.
But
what my parents said was absolute—
Because of that,
I came to hate the piano.
However.
A few years ago, I
encountered the acoustic guitar,
and for the first time, I learned the 'joy of playing an instrument.'
I became captivated by singing while playing.
And then,
an electronic piano arrived at our home.
Although I had
always felt uncomfortable with the piano,
seeing my daughter playing it happily,
and hearing the sparkling sound of the piano,
(I want to try playing...)
I thought.
Because I have loved music
very, very much since I was a child.
And so,
I timidly touched the piano.
Since I had taken lessons for nearly six years,
I could read sheet music,
and my fingers remembered a little bit.
Even though I hadn't touched it for decades,
It's incredibly fun...
Now,
while my daughter isn't playing the piano,
I am the one enjoying it.
I love singing while playing, so
instead of classical music,
I look at chords on my smartphone,
and while arranging the chords as I please,
I sing freely and happily.
'Freely and happily'
This is the core.
That's when I realized.
Ah, I
don't hate the piano.
I realized that I just hated
being forced to do it.
I realized that the 'memory of being forced to do it against my will'
had simply been converted into
'I hate the piano'.
I took lessons for nearly six years, but
it didn't help me at all...
My piano experience, which I had
convinced myself was useless,
has finally blossomed now.
You really never know
what will happen in life ^^
Aru.
