Love in the Name of Financial Support

"How about raising funds?"

For me, as a painter,
months when my paintings don't sell mean zero income.


When that happens, I have no choice but to go out and work.



Starting from that conversation,

if I could collect monthly support funds,
even in months when my paintings don't sell,
wouldn't I be able to avoid having to go out and work?


This was a proposal from my partner, Yupon,


who runs Wise Supporter,



and who had been thinking,

"I want you to focus on painting as much as possible."

However,

"There's no way support funds will be raised,"

I said, completely rejecting the idea.

Even so, Yupon kept saying,

"Let's try it."
"You won't know until you try."

and kept saying it repeatedly,

and in the end,
in a way that felt like I had finally given in,

"Well... okay... fine...."

and with that flow,


in 2022,

the Painter Yumeno Living Support Fund system
was born.

And then,

contrary to my expectations,
people who wanted to support me
appeared immediately.

(At first, there was no platform, so
I communicated with each person via email
and provided my account details directly.)

This is the very first report on the financial support.

I had thought that I wouldn't even be able to raise 100 yen,
so I was truly surprised, and


thanks to the financial support,

even in months when my art didn't sell,
the problem of me having to do other work

disappeared.
(I became able to focus solely on my art.)

After that,

because I received feedback that it would be good
if credit cards could also be used,

at Yupon's suggestion,

to the Wise Supporter membership,
which is operated for the purpose of supporting creative expenses,

a living support plan

the "Yume Support Plan"

has been added.
