Aroma: A Message from Eucalyptus
Today's aroma is eucalyptus.
It grows abundantly in Australia and is the staple food of the koala. By the way, it seems that in English, koalas were once thought to be a type of bear, called a 'Koala Bear.' With their fluffy, soft fur and the fact that they live high up in trees where they are hard to see, they must have looked like little bears. How cute!
Well, today, ever since this morning, I've felt somewhat distracted... I feel calm in a way, yet as I move forward, my body doesn't seem to follow. I feel a sense of misalignment in everything I do, and even while I'm working, my heart feels unsettled.
I woke up feeling very refreshed this morning, and this was the first essential oil I reached for. When I woke up, I didn't expect to feel this unsettled, but as time passed, I started feeling restless and scattered. Ah, I thought, this is exactly when eucalyptus helps me. It seems my body anticipated this state this morning and sent the scent of eucalyptus to me.
Eucalyptus contains many components like 1,8-cineole and alpha-pinene, which have antibacterial and antiviral properties and provide a sharp, clear scent that opens up the nose. It also contains limonene (a component often found in relaxing aromas like lavender), which helps to loosen the mind a little, making it an excellent choice for relaxing along with that sharp, refreshing scent.
Today's message from eucalyptus:
'Come on, let's deepen our breathing. I know you always take deep breaths when you notice yourself doing so. So, today, let's try to feel our breathing even more. Try to cherish each and every breath you take. When you happen to notice, observe what kind of breathing you are doing—it's okay if it's shallow. If you feel like you want to inhale more, just do it, and if you feel like you want to move more, then move. If you want to stay still, it's fine to move slowly or not at all.
The important thing is to feel and observe that you are repeating the cycle of inhaling and exhaling. Breathing is also the source of the circulation of the soul's energy. If you can feel your breathing circulating, you can feel the circulation of all energy. Breathing is interesting, isn't it? See you later!'
Before long, eucalyptus alone wasn't enough, so I'm enjoying the scent of lemon along with it. It's twilight now, time for a dialogue with myself today, a quick reflection on the day, and let's try to feel my breathing once more.
Breathing is the source of life, a fundamental action.
It might be a good idea to take some time to feel it slowly.
