Sauternes is the King of Noble Rot Wines!! (Drinking Wine, 14)

◎ The story behind drinking this wine
After discovering the charm of noble rot and sweet wines in 'My First Noble Rot Wine (Drinking Wine, 12)', I decided to try a noble rot wine from the Sauternes region of Bordeaux, France.
Recently, I've been trying wines from different districts within Bordeaux. Having already tried Médoc and Graves, it felt like the natural order to try Sauternes next. So, I headed south.
And when you think of Sauternes, you think of noble rot wine! So, I went on a search. I checked several shops without success, but this was the one bottle I finally found.

◎ Impressions: Château Suduiraut [Half Bottle]
90% Sémillon, 10% Sauvignon Blanc

With its deep yellow color, combined with the design of the label, it is truly a golden noble rot wine!!
It cost several thousand yen for a half bottle, which took a lot of courage for a beginner like me, but one sip and I was convinced by its overwhelming sense of royalty and sweetness!! It was a wine that conveyed its history and the attitude of producing it with supreme pride in a single sip.
It felt like the king of noble rot wines, something beyond comparison, but if I had to describe it, it would be golden honey!!!

The good thing about noble rot wine is that you can enjoy it for a long time. Even if you drink a glass before or after a meal every day, the flavor doesn't change much over several days, so you can enjoy it for a long time.

A First Growth wine from the Sauternes region!
It seems the owner is AXA, the company famous for insurance.
The building is truly a palace, fitting the French word 'château'!

◎ Aside
When I was buying this wine, it was on a high shelf, so I asked the middle-aged clerk to get it for me.
He said something like, 'You certainly have a discerning eye, haha.'
I didn't like the way he said that, and I was a bit annoyed, thinking, 'Are you looking down on me because I'm a young woman, you jerk!!!'
But after drinking it, I thought, 'Actually, I did have a discerning eye.' (Even though it was just the only bottle of Sauternes they had in the store.)
