The funeral of Hilda, who passed away peacefully at 94🌈
Today, I went to the funeral of David's aunt, "Hilda", who passed away on November 11th at the age of 94.
Hilda was the younger sister of David's late mother, Doris, and the mother of his cousin, Jill🍀

At 2:00 PM, Jill came to pick us up by car, and we first went to her house...

"Would you like some gin or a soft drink?"
Jill asked, but I declined, thinking it was still before the funeral...😂
I wanted to take photos, and it would be a disaster if I got tipsy💦

It's interesting that there's a switch under the gin bottle that lights it up when you press it...
Jill showed us a throw she made by unraveling yarn from Hilda's clothes and knitting it back together.

She had sewn a soft, fluffy lining onto the back.

She is good at drawing and has an artistic temperament, so she has a great sense of style for everything🌈
The invitation card distributed to the funeral attendees was also her design✨

Condolence flowers from attendees had arrived at the house...
This is what we gave as a gift↓

David has better taste, so I left the choice to him, and it was a great success!

While there were many pink-toned flowers, the ones we chose stood out, and Jill was happy with them too🌈

At 3:00 PM, the hearse carrying Hilda's coffin and a black limousine arrived, and we rode in the limousine with Jill to the venue.

David and the other men carried the coffin to the venue...

We followed behind Jill and Kelly and took our seats.

Hilda loved cherry blossoms, so her coffin was decorated with a cherry blossom pattern🌸
Tissues were placed in front of the seats.
The officiant, with a bright expression, spoke about Hilda and her family, saying, 'Let's celebrate and send off Hilda, who lived a wonderful life' (per her daughter Jill's wishes).
The hymn 'I Watch the Sunrise' played, and Jill read a poem dedicated to Hilda...

After watching a slideshow of photos of her from her youth to recent times,

we touched Hilda's coffin to say our goodbyes and left...

Outside, flowers arranged by the funeral home were lined up...

I asked David to take a commemorative photo here~📸

I'm actually wearing makeup today, too🤣

After the funeral, we moved to a pub to have light refreshments and chat with everyone🌈

We reminisced while looking at old photos of Hilda in an album handmade by Jill...

Hilda was as beautiful as an actress when she was young✨

Hilda's older sister, Doris, is David's mother✨

I wonder if Len, Doris, and Hilda's husband, Tony, are reuniting in heaven right about now~🍀

I'm sure that world over there must be peaceful~🍀
The light refreshments served at the pub were all full of flour💦

The cakes also looked sweet, loaded with fresh cream~🤣

Luckily, there was one special gluten-free plate prepared just for me✨

I managed to get some food by sharing it with a relative who can't eat wheat🤣
There were even photos of our wedding in the album, which brought back memories🍀

And, photos of David when he was little too...

I forgot to bring my wallet and asked David twice to buy me a drink, but he completely forgot💦
I ended up sipping on the mineral water I brought with me...
I realized on my way out that it was actually an open bar where everything was free (Jill paid for everyone's drinks later), so I was like, oh well😂
I'm back home now, writing this post while feeling a bit tipsy from a drink I don't usually have🤣
And so, my report on a British funeral comes to a successful end~🌈
