Apple & Blackberry Picking🍎🫐 My current breakfast obsession☀️ Spelt puffs & ancient grain flakes🥰
The UK has gotten significantly cooler lately🇬🇧
Today's low was 14°C and the high was 21°C🌈
David muttered, 'Summer is already over, isn't it?'...
Summer is ending this year without us even having a barbecue😅
In the evening, after David finished work, we decided to go apple picking🍎
Most of the apples on the trees in our neighborhood had already fallen, so we decided to head out near the nearest station.

Green apples (sour apples🍏)

The type you can't eat unless you make them sweet with sugar in an apple pie😅

I really want regular red apples after all🍎

With these, you can just peel them and eat them as they are🍎

We found an apple tree with tons of fruit on it✨

Lots of red apples🍎

Long-armed David is the one doing the picking...

All the red apples we can pick🤭

If you bought these normally, organic ones would cost over 500 yen for four.

We even brought a wooden stick to reach the high ones...

We were able to harvest more apples than we expected🥰

We haven't tasted them yet, but they must be sweet😆
There were blackberries nearby too...

It hasn't rained at all lately, so they're a bit dry...

Harvested just a few blackberries🫐

The apples I picked are so shiny🍎🍏

Now, when I tried counting how many there were...

There were 56 in total😆
I'm not sure how long apples last, but since they're pesticide-free, I wonder if they'll start to shrivel up little by little...
Lately, my go-to breakfast is fruit with spelt puffs and cornflake grains topped with oat milk🤭

Spelt is an ancient grain that has been around for over 5,000 years

I checked it on the product rating app 'Yuka' and it got a perfect score of 100👏
It was on sale at Whole Foods, so I bought it immediately🤭

The ingredients are just organic spelt wheat and honey🍯!

It's reassuring because it doesn't contain anything weird🍀
I think it was around 600 yen...
And here is a product I found at the supermarket that I really like↓

Organic cornflakes🌽 andAncient grains = grains that were eaten in ancient times.
Things likemixed grainsfound in Japan, such asblack riceandred rice, Japanese barnyard millet, foxtail millet, and proso milletare alsoancient grains.

The ingredients areorganiccoarse ground corn, corn flourcoarse ground corn, corn flour, cane sugar, flaxseed, buckwheat flour, quinoa, amaranth, sea saltandVitamin E (a zero-risk additive)

It's not a perfect score because it contains additives, but 88 points is a high score✨
When I looked closely, it said 'Made in USA🇺🇸'

Organic oat milk

The ingredients are water, oats, and sea salt🧂🌊

This one also gets 88 points✨

So, for tomorrow's breakfast, I'll be having apples and blackberries on top of spelt puffs and ancient grain flakes, with oat milk poured over them🤭
Since the spelt puffs already contain honey, I won't add any sugar...
I've really been looking forward to this breakfast time lately.
I used to skip breakfast for a 16-hour intermittent fasting diet, though😅
It lifts my mood in the morning, I get my enzymes, my digestion is better, and it seems like eating breakfast actually suits me better🥰
