Now, this time we are talking about the secrets of RINGO-TEX, which we receive many inquiries about.
■ What is RINGO-TEX?
It is a material made by processing discarded apples (such as pomace) into fibers and fabrics,
transforming them into an eco-friendly material.
We 'upcycle' the parts of the apple that would otherwise be thrown away, and we have named this fabric
'RINGO-TEX' to create high-quality fabric.
■ How do you turn apples into material?
Apple waste is finely crushed and then processed using our proprietary technology.
This is apple pomace.
When dried, it becomes this powdery state!
Then, it is spread into thin sheets and subjected to proprietary processing to
create the apple material.
By using this method, a material with the texture and durability of leather is produced.
■ Is apple material durable?
In conclusion, it is very strong.
It is resistant to water and scratches, making it suitable for creating a wide range of products such as bags and wallets.
The softness varies depending on the type of fabric, and one of its strengths is that it is easy to process even for making small products like business card holders and pouches✨
It repels water, so it is perfectly fine even on days with heavy blizzards in Aomori Prefecture, the snowy region where our headquarters is located⛄
Because it is plant-derived, RINGO-TEX is ethical and very kind to the Earth🌎
