#6 A special report was broadcast on NHK General TV's 'Ohayo Nippon' segment 'Oha-BIZ' 🍏
Hello! We are appcycle, a startup from Aomori.
The number of people reading our note, which we update every Thursday, is gradually increasing, and it is very encouraging!
We look forward to your continued support this week as well 🍎
Our last post was a report on our presentation at a pitch event held in Otemachi, Tokyo 🎤
We shared stories from the forefront of business.
This time, it is about media appearance information.
Last month, appcycle's initiatives were broadcast on the morning news program NHK General TV 'Ohayo Nippon'.
We received messages from many people saying, 'I saw it!' 🍏
In particular, it was broadcast in the 'Oha-BIZ' segment,
which features business information that deserves national attention! ✨
You can watch the archive from this link, so please be sure to check it out.
The theme of the report was,
'Utilizing apple pomace for business'
Starting with the ANA headrest covers made from our new material 'RINGO-TEX,' we were able to convey the characteristics of the material and the thoughts of our representative to people across the country 🍏
As a quick review, let's summarize the content once again!
■ Expectations for reducing the burden of apple waste disposal with the new material RINGO-TEX 🍎
Apples are used in processed products like juice, and the disposal of the pomace has been a long-standing problem and challenge. In Aomori Prefecture, which has the highest production volume in Japan, about 20,000 tons of pomace are discharged annually. It takes time and money to dispose of it.

Developed with the desire to solve such issues through sustainable business and become a circular function for our hometown of Aomori is RINGO-TEX, which upcycles pomace.
■ Also used for airplane seat headrest covers
This RINGO-TEX has been adopted by the major airline ANA.
With the goal of achieving zero resource waste, ANA is using appcycle's RINGO-TEX for headrest covers on a total of 529 seats across three aircraft.

Also, in the interview, we talked about wanting to replace 1% of the leather industry, which is said to have a global market of over 30 trillion yen, with this new material made from apple pomace.
[Bonus] A peek behind the scenes of the NHK interview!

The ANA Green Jet that NHK chose as the filming location this time ✈
It is a spectacular sight to see the RINGO-TEX headrest covers lined up, which have carried so many passengers through the skies.

This visit gave us confidence in the durability of our product and strengthened our desire to focus even more on further product development.

Seeing an airplane up close is truly impressive ✈
RINGO-TEX is taking flight to the world, and appcycle's challenge continues.
At appcycle, we are looking for members to create the future together with those who are:
🍎 Interested in primary industries
🍎 Interested in eco-friendly initiatives
🍎 Wanting to use ethical fashion and products
We will continue to create various products using
"RINGO-TEX", a new eco-material made from apple pomace!
Please be sure tosubscribe and followour note.
