Now, this time it's Aomori City outing information!
We are introducing a book cafe where you can spend blissful time in chairs made of RINGO-TEX.
OPEN in Namidate Ginza, Aomori City! BOOK CAFE & BAR "Shiori"
The book cafe & bar "Shiori," which just opened this spring, was born from the renovation of a former convenience store.
This place, filled with the owner Kosuke Inami's passionate thoughts on "community development," is lined with many books related to "architecture," "community development," and "Aomori," and also serves as a hub for visitors to interact.
The owner is an architect; meticulous interior design 🔨
Inside the shop, the unique attention to detail that only an architect like Mr. Inami could provide shines through everywhere. It is a unique space where the walls and floors are decorated with full-scale illustrations that express the area and length of objects in both shaku-kan units and metric units.
You can also purchase Tsugaru Kanayama-yaki pottery in the shop!
It is a type of pottery characterized by its deep texture, created using the "yakishime" method of firing and hardening slowly at a high temperature of 1350 degrees.
Comfort colored by the sustainable material "RINGO-TEX" 🍎
In such a "Shiori," chairs using "RINGO-TEX," our new material derived from apple pomace at appcycle Inc., have been adopted.
The cute apple-shaped chairs are not only great to look at, but also extremely comfortable to sit in.
The natural texture of RINGO-TEX blends into the calm atmosphere of the shop, creating a warm space.
The time spent reading your favorite book while feeling the gentle touch of the apple-derived fabric is surely a blissful moment, isn't it?

Among the many books lined up, we have carefully selected three books recommended by the owner, Mr. Inami for this article.
①"Dangerous Design: Thinking with First-Class Architect Noriko" by Yuichi Asano and Jin Oni, edited by Nikkei CrossTech, 2024
[Reason for Selection]
The design philosophy of Noriko, a first-class architect from Hirosaki City, Aomori Prefecture, who also draws manga.
Reading this helps you understand the necessity of an architect even for small construction projects, and also clarifies the position that "Shiori" aims for!
②"Japanese Economic Voting" by Hanako Omura (Professor at Kyoto University), 2025

The latest work by Professor Hanako Omura, a horse racing friend of the owner and also his graduate school advisor.
The refreshing theory, which utilizes data analysis, is well worth a read.
③"Father's Lover, Mother's Adam's Apple: Seeing Off Two People Who Parted 40 Years Ago" by Kaori Hori, 2025
[Reason for Selection]
The debut book by freelance writer Ms. Hori, who is a friend of the owner and helped launch the crowdfunding for Shiori.
Contrary to the refreshing writing style, this can be called a masterpiece for those who are single, considering end-of-life care for their parents, and thinking about their future lives.
