News Station and the Pauses

Since I was a child, I have always found the pauses before commercials to be comforting.

News Station began in 1985, the year after I was born.

Mr. Kume left News Station in 2004, the year I entered the workforce.

Mr. Kume passed away in 2026, the year after I returned to work following my depression.

People often focus on the power of listening, but his strategy was to bombard you with things that made you want to speak up before you even had a chance to listen, thereby creating a pause.
