If I Could Protect You
I have said it once before.
"You have me, don't you?"
Words I, who always rely on others, threw at my husband.
People can't always be strong, can they?
No matter how sturdy they may seem, there are times when their knees buckle, aren't there?
Conversely, people can't always be weak, can they?
When you think of someone precious, you can become strong.
"If only I could protect this person."
I want to make sure I never forget this feeling.

At a drinking party, when he casually mentioned, "My wife is taller than me,"
apparently he was told, "How pathetic."
"Sorry for being short."
My husband came home, told me about the drinking party, and apologized while laughing.
If you say something like that,
"I'm the one who should be sorry for being so big."
A scene where a girl stands on her tiptoes to kiss a boy.
I love it.
It makes my heart race and flutter.
Even though it's a situation we'll never have.
But, you know... I think...
A girl bending her knees slightly to kiss a boy,
I think that kind of scene would be picturesque too.

Come to think of it, when I was young,
I used to admire the way cute girls would look up at someone, but a friend once told me something.
"Kana, you look better when you lift your chin a little and put some intensity in your eyes. You look like someone I could rely on," they said.
I thought, "Huh?" but when I made an effort to act a bit aloof, I actually got a little more popular (lol).
Maybe I have more of a knack for protecting others than being cutely protected myself.
Just kidding.
So, I'm going to say it.

Thank you for always protecting me.
Once in a while, please let me protect you too💕
