Hokkaido Trip: Mom Alone, Energetic, and Becoming Snorlax

Looking back on our Hokkaido trip.

It's long, but I only used simple characters, so you can read it quickly (lol).

This time, our family headed to Hokkaido, each with one wish.
1. Delicious food
2. Instagrammable photos (things that look good in the sea, mountains, rivers, and meadows)
3. Haskap & cheese
4. Something fun (a vague request from the family)
5. Mom hugs
6. Obsidian!!!
(Honestly, I thought we wouldn't have enough time.)

Day one.

My daughter's wish was the ferry.

It was successfully granted.
However, 80% of the family got seasick.
(Only Mom and Momo were fine.)
Our HP is in a near-death state from the start.

Day two.

The next wish was meat or a seafood bowl. (Daughter, Panao)

We went to eat the extra-large steak recommended by the inn owner. 300 grams per plate.

However, it seems the ferry is still having an effect.

80% of the family's stomachs are in a near-death state...

The result.

I ate 80% of everyone's meat. Was it a kilogram!?
Mom's role during the trip is a big eater. I am Snorlax.

Day three.

The family's wish. (Momo)

"I want to do something fun."

That request is way too vague. As always!

My daughter Panao, having safely recovered from seasickness, headed off to go rafting.

I stayed behind to watch the house and go for a walk with Momo.

But thinking back now, I think this was Momo's happiest day. I can't hold her in the car, after all.

It was relaxing. I'm happy holding Momo, too.

Day four.

Finally, my wish!!!
Collecting obsidian.
The kids found some rare stones.

Panao found some too. I found a cute stone. That alone made me happy.

……And at the same time, we discovered something else.
A typhoon.

Having barely watched the news for the past three days, it was only now that I learned a typhoon would hit on the day I was supposed to return home.

I found obsidian. I also found a typhoon.

Day 5

I want to take Instagrammable photos. (My eldest daughter's wish) There is no avoiding the typhoon. So, I will enjoy sunny Hokkaido to the fullest.

Hot air balloon. Naitai Highland Farm. White birch tree-lined road. Roadside station.

I fully enjoyed the scenery typical of Hokkaido.

And then, I changed my plans to a ferry bound for Sendai that I booked in a hurry.

Hmm, the boarding procedure is different.

I'm confused again. I learned that each ferry company has a different culture.

Day six.

It was pouring rain when we got off the ferry... so tough.

So, I'll have her enjoy the aquarium instead.

For some reason, we ate seafood bowls there...
Eating them right after saying 'The fish are so cute!'
I think that's fine...

Day seven.

I want to eat delicious afternoon tea. (My second daughter)

We headed to a shop in Sendai.

And then, what my daughter ordered was spaghetti.

Just do whatever you want at this point.

After that, on a whim, we went to the Pokemon Center.

It was dangerous. Panao, me, and my daughters were all so excited.

Everyone bought something.
Everyone.

We lost the battle.
Everything went black before our eyes.

And then, back home. What awaited me were various vegetables blown away by the typhoon...

Looking back

Looking back, I got seasick on the ferry, inhaled meat like a vacuum, searched for obsidian, encountered a typhoon, switched ferries, ate a seafood bowl at the aquarium, and
ate spaghetti at afternoon tea,

……and splurged at the Pokémon Center.

I feel like nothing went according to plan.

But strangely enough,

everyone's wishes were properly granted. Mom got fat.
