Dog Memo

It is often said that dogs prefer higher-pitched voices, and my own dogs are no exception. My Chiweenie girl, in particular, seems to enjoy high notes, even when they come from my own strained, middle-aged voice. My current go-to song is "Ichioku Kounen" by Omoinotake.

My falsetto is unbearable to listen to, and my wife tells me to "stop it," but just hearing the opening line is enough to make the dog come leaping at me with all her might. When I really need her to come over, this works with a higher success rate than just calling her name, "Rookie."
