Praying for a Broken Bone [Weekly Short-Short Note]
Working hours had passed, and while other employees were leaving one after another, my senior colleague remained alone to work overtime.
This is my chance.
I steel myself and speak to him.
"U-um, please let me break a bone for you!"
……He looks completely repulsed. That's strange.
"I want to break a bone for your sake!"
"……You're the person from the next department, right? Uh, I'd rather you didn't break any bones……"
"Why not? Please, let me break one!"
I had even prayed at a shrine for the opportunity to break a bone for my senior colleague, who looked like he was struggling with constant overtime.
Even if he refuses, I can't break my resolve here—
"……Oh, I see, you were trying to help me out of my daily overtime. Sorry for the misunderstanding."
Our words had crossed, and it took a lot of back-breaking effort to make him correctly understand my intentions.
"I'm glad you understand."
"Well then, I'll take you up on your offer."
"Yes!"
Thank goodness, now I can finally free my senior colleague from this overtime hell.
I joyfully raised the hammer.
