How to Enshrine a Kamidana

Kamidana Installation Location
Clean location: Install the Kamidana in a clean and quiet place. Choose a respected location in the house.
High position: Install the Kamidana at a position higher than eye level to show respect.
Face north or west: Install the Kamidana so that its front faces south or east.
Basic Composition of a Kamidana
Kamidana unit: Wooden shelves or shelves specifically for Kamidana are common.
Ritual items: Prepare a set of ritual items (lamps, sakaki stands, salt offering dishes, etc.).
Ofuda (talisman): Enshrine the Ofuda received from a shrine.
How to Enshrine the Kamidana

Two bows: Bow twice in front of the Kamidana.
Two claps: Clap your hands twice.
One bow: Bow once more at the end.
