[Now Hiring!] Nurses, Pharmacists, Dental Hygienists, and Medical Office Staff / Why not join us in creating community healthcare that treats every patient with care?
Ama Town, located in the Oki Islands, a remote island group in Shimane Prefecture.
It is considered a front-runner in regional revitalization, drawing attention for its unique initiatives such as administrative reform, local product development, and educational enrichment.
There are no convenience stores, no pharmacies, and only one traffic light.
“What we don't have, we don't need” is the town's slogan. On this island, at the Ama Clinic and Ama Dental Clinic—the only medical institutions available—we are hiring nurses, pharmacists, dental hygienists, and medical office staff.

Deeply involved with every patient
Features of Ama Clinic
1. The only clinic in Ama Town
Ama Town is located in the Oki Islands, floating north of Shimane Prefecture, about three and a half hours by ferry from the mainland. Although it is a small island surrounded by great nature with a population of about 2,300, it has bold town policies and a culture that warmly welcomes people from outside the island, with the characteristic that about 20% of the population are migrants.
2. Caring for the entire community
Every islander, from infants to the elderly, is a patient. Unlike hospitals in the city,
we are not divided into specialized departments, but rather treat patients across various ages and medical specialties, fulfilling the role of a local primary care institution. In addition to general practice, we support the island's healthcare as the only clinic by conducting facility rounds for welfare organizations on the island and performing school health checkups.
3. Collaboration with other professions
Staff from various fields, including medical, nursing, and administrative, share patient information across professional boundaries. Leveraging the
”face-to-face” relationships that come from a small population, we carefully catch changes in each patient's condition and their concerns, providing care that is close to each individual.

The work of nurses at Ama Clinic is introduced below.
Within these ”face-to-face relationships,” we provide medical care while valuing each and every patient.
The island's only dentist: Ama Dental Clinic
Ama Dental Clinic is located in the center of town, next to Ama Clinic.
As the only dentist on the island, in addition to regular checkups and house calls, we actively conduct dental examinations and guidance at nursery schools, elementary schools, and junior high schools, go out into the community with public health nurses, and provide dental guidance at elderly care facilities.
We also participate in care meetings with clinics, nursing facilities, and the administration, collaborating with other professions to support the health of the community from a dental perspective.
