🕊️ August 15th — A piece to listen to in quiet reflection
Today is the anniversary of the end of the war.
Every time this day arrives, I am reminded of the preciousness of being able to spend our days in peace as we do now.
The piece I would like to introduce today is "Pie Jesu" from Gabriel Fauré's Requiem.
The lyrics are very short and simple.
"Merciful Lord Jesus, grant them eternal rest."
The prayer, sung quietly, does not speak loudly of sorrow, but rather resonates as a gentle wish for the peace of those who have passed away and for a peaceful future.
Amidst the soft sunlight filtering through the trees in summer, why not spend a moment listening to this piece and offering a quiet prayer?
May today be a day to once again hold the preciousness of peace in our hearts.🕊️
