Only one week left until the Izayoi Cup❣️ Reflection note: "For those writing haiku for the first time"
Thank you all so much for participating!😊✨
There are so many people who have written haiku, tanka, or senryu for the first time, and it's very exciting!🌕
The Everyone's Haiku Tournament (Tanka/Senryu) is, as the name suggests, a tournament that everyone can participate in!
While it is important to learn about haiku and tanka in depth through corrections and revisions, I think the most important thing is to first try turning things you suddenly notice into haiku or tanka... try making them in 5-7-5 or 5-7-5-7-7 and enjoy the process!🤗
When you try to write, you become more sensitive to nature and events, and I think you'll find yourself able to keep your antenna up for everything.
Once your antenna is up, it's also good to look up seasonal words (kigo) in a saijiki (you can also look them up online) if you're writing haiku, or try finding haiku you like.
Tanka can have seasonal words or not, but it seems they are mainly used to express emotions.
Haiku is often used to describe scenes.
I am still a beginner myself, so there are many things I don't know or haven't noticed, but rather than winning prizes, just having many people read my work and give me feedback is very encouraging!🥰
👇This is an article I wrote during the spring tournament, the "Universe Cup," but there is only one week left! If you are still hesitant about submitting, please read this and try participating!٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶
