Izayoi Cup 🌕 Keika's Personal Choice Awards [Tanka] Top 3 & Top 10
Thank you for participating in the Izayoi Cup 🌕
So many people enjoyed it, and we received 332 tanka poems from 132 participants❣️
Choosing from among them was a daunting task, but I simply selected the tanka that resonated with me the moment I first read them (=^▽^)σ

🌙 camyu-san
Sitting on the half-moon of an autumn night,
I want to cast a spell on you while you sleep
The half-moon really does look like a wonderful chair. It reminded me of the movie 'Paper Moon' I saw a long, long time ago 🌙
It feels like you might come visit in a dream❣️
It's overflowing with the tenderness of thinking of you while you sleep, and 'I want to cast a spell' makes my heart flutter (*^o^*)
🌙 Reiko Ishida-san
Looking out at the city where the autumn rain flows,
Your profile rests upon my shoulder
The city where the autumn rain flows... that alone makes my imagination run wild✨ I can imagine a story that could even be song lyrics. If you have someone gently leaning on you, you could spend even a rainy day romantically (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)
🌙 Naomi-san
As the sun sets, a faint loneliness, the Month of No Gods,
The sound of insects, riri-ri, spills into my heart
A faint loneliness... an autumn sunset really does feel just like that. The expression that the cute 'riri-ri' sound of the insects is spilling into your heart is wonderful (*^o^*)

Tsuru-san
The harvest moon visible between the power lines,
Spilling its light, the love that reaches me is rare
I can picture Tsuru-sensei gently looking up from the gaps, not even thinking of the power lines as obstacles. 'Light spilling down, the love that reaches is rare'... I admire expressions like this.
MITEI NARIKO-san
A moon boat floating in the sky of farewell
Dropping anchor in a silent throat
I can picture a crescent moon boat floating in the sky, and I can imagine a painful farewell too 🌙 'Dropping anchor in a silent throat' really conveys the bitterness of parting.
Shichi-san
Led by the hand, I followed you out
The night sky was a private moonlit affair
So the full moon had the night sky all to itself 🌕 It makes the moonlit night seen by two people feel even more beautiful.
Koshiniwa Fushi-san
Autumn wind like a vivid breath
Light on the lens capturing the pampas grass
Autumn wind like a breath... I was strongly drawn to this choice of words. And I could imagine the quiet breathing while capturing the pampas grass ✨
Hiro-o-san
Of ghosts swarming in the jet-black sea
The maddening bubbles of hands slipping through
Whether they are ghosts wandering in the dark sea or the inner workings of a heart likened to ghosts, the hands slipping through and the maddening bubbles... it feels like an artistic masterpiece where everything leaps into the eyes like a painting ✨
Oishii Mushi-ebi-san
A six-mat dining room smelling of coffee
I grew up just a little bit
I have finally reached the age where I can drink coffee. The coffee I brewed by myself in my 6-tatami mat dining room must have made me feel exceptionally grown-up. I found it heartwarming. ☕️
Kazekaze-san
In the harvested field, a bird-scaring can left behind
rings out once, a sorrowful sound
You focused on a bird-scaring can left in the rice field, and I felt your kindness in noticing the sad sound it made, whether it was hit by a metal rod or rolled by the wind. Your thoughts toward the fields and the people who harvested them also come through. ✨
Aoi-hana-san
Flickering like the flame of a candle
I walk home toward the setting sun
By describing the figure walking as flickering like a candle flame, you made me imagine the emotions and the scene, and I was moved. ✨
Suisei Suzaki-san
The full moon is melting, so I'll pack it in a jar
and spread it on bread when morning comes
It would be interesting if the full moon melted and turned into butter. I'm looking forward to tomorrow morning!
I enjoyed it like a world from a fairy tale. ✨
chiyo-san
Autumn breeze, a bundle of letters tucked away
how many years have passed, yet I still read them in confusion
A bundle of letters that has piled up before I knew it, and remembering them when autumn comes... I feel like I understand that. I also leave them as they are because I can't organize them without reading them, wondering how many years have passed. After all, it was the age of letters back then. ☺️
I had actually selected twenty poems, but I had to tearfully give up on those that overlapped with the haiku entries.
Next time, it will be the Keika Award (Unofficial) [Haiku]! ❣️
For those who haven't received the participation prize from Shirokuma Kirin-san yet, please do! ❣️

A flower basket from me 🧺💐

Everyone is welcome to participate in the unofficial awards❣️
