Alphabet Monsters Design Notes j / J
What are Alphabet Monsters?
Alphabet Monsters are original educational materials that feature uppercase and lowercase letters designed as Pokémon-like characters.
By utilizing the shape of the letters as the silhouettes of the monsters, we have designed them so that children can enjoy getting familiar with the alphabet.
As a design note, I will be writing about the behind-the-scenes of the production.

Banana form
When I saw the alphabet letters j and J,
it's simple, but I thought of bananas.
As plant-based characters,
they are entities that expand the world-building.
Jena
The lowercase j Alphabet Monster is Jena.
It is based on a single banana.
It has a thin, light, and slightly unreliable physique.
The dot on top is not floating in the air, but is designed to be connected to the main body with a thin part.

Jenana
The uppercase J is Jenana.
The motif is a bunch of three bananas.
It's J for banana, so it's Jenana.
Since the J taught in school includes the horizontal bar on top, I made sure to include that element.
Actually, many printed fonts do not have that horizontal bar.
I think it would be lively if three bananas with different expressions and personalities gathered together.
Multi-headed character designs are a staple in Pokémon, too.
It ended up looking quite strong,
but the humorous atmosphere also increased.
Each one is a character with a unique expression.

If you like, it would be encouraging if you could like or follow.
It would be great if you could leave a comment about your child's reaction, etc.✨
