Alphabet Monsters Design Note i / I
What are Alphabet Monsters?
"Alphabet Monsters" is an original educational material that designs uppercase and lowercase letters as Pokémon-like characters.
By utilizing the shape of the letters as the silhouettes of the monsters, we have designed them so that children can enjoy getting familiar with the alphabet.
We have incorporated various features to help children engage with the alphabet in a fun way.
As a design note, I will write about the behind-the-scenes of the production.

Ancient storytellers that have started to move?
Designed from the silhouettes of i and I,
Ein and Iim are
beings that have hardly moved for a long time,
like inorganic ancient civilization memory devices or communication devices
that have continued to record events and stories happening in the world.
The image is that after an unimaginably long time,
they suddenly started moving around a little bit.
Ein
The shape of i, made only of a dot and a stick,
reminded me of the number "1".
In German, "ein" means "one".
With only one eye,
and only one body.
It is very simple,
and somewhat of a primordial existence.

Iim
Born from the simplest alphabet shape, I, Iim
has the appearance of a single thick pillar.
For the name "Iim," I was also conscious of
a mysterious sound that feels like a spell or an ancient language, similar to a golem or a totem pole.

Two mysterious beings
Ein and Iim have become
a bit unusual and mysterious beings.
It is fun to think about the settings
for characters like these.
If you like, it would be encouraging if you could like or follow.
It would be wonderful if you could leave a comment about your child's reaction, etc.✨
