What I Realized on a Snowy Day: The Parent-Child Time Created by the "Environment"
Hello,
this is Kotokoto Sugosu.
Yesterday, even though the snow had piled up nicely,
I couldn't play with my child.
The reason was simple:
gloves would get dirty,
jackets would get soaked,
and it seemed like it would be a hassle to wash them later.
After saying, "Let's skip it today,"
and going inside the house,
something felt like it was stuck in my heart.
I realized it later.
I should have just prepared
gloves that could get dirty and
a jacket that could get dirty.
If I had done that, I could have
played in the snow to my heart's content with my child.
It wasn't that I stopped my child from wanting to play.
I realized it wasn't about my feelings,
but simply that I hadn't prepared enough.
But, come to think of it, there's still time. This winter isn't over yet,
and surely it will snow again.
I can just prepare gloves and a jacket
that can get dirty from now.
If I just set up the environment,
next time we can play to our heart's content.
I don't have to end this with regret.
I've become a little excited
for the next day it snows.
Next time,
I'm going to play with all my might together with them.
p.s
On the night I wrote this article,
luckily the snow was still soft,
so I wore gloves and a jacket that could get dirty,
and I was able to make three little snowmen ⛄️
with my daughter ☺️
I'm glad I was able to
let her have a little fun 🍀
