Distributing the free font Alfapahts

Alphanumeric characters. The character to the right of "?" is intended to be "@"
Katakana. Wi and We are just for fun
Hiragana.
"Keredomo anmari..." is a hiragana transcription of a sentence from Kenji Miyazawa's "Gauche the Cellist"
I also added Nepali numerals. I referred to several calendars using the Vikram Samvat calendar
I also added Chinese numerals and such (the one that looks like a loach is 'trillion')

About the font

  • Based on my self-made font "Alfabahts" which is currently being distributed, I created "Alfapahts," a font containing only hiragana, katakana, and English letters. It looks a bit like Thai or Armenian script without the circles

  • It does not contain anything other than hiragana, katakana, alphanumeric characters (alphabet, numbers, and symbols that can be typed on a standard keyboard), and Chinese numerals. Please use other fonts to supplement as needed

  • Readability is secondary as playfulness is prioritized. Some of the deformed English letters are based on cursive (such as I, L, and Z). If used in designs where text information is not required, characters like "エ" or "|" can be used as substitutes for a regular "I"

  • Use is not recommended in situations where misreading would be problematic

  • The lowercase English letters are just slightly smaller versions of the uppercase ones

  • Currently, I have only been able to verify its operation in limited environments. It is intended for horizontal writing only

  • Since it is handmade, it deviates from standard font conventions and contains unexpected errors (in fact, I find something every time I look at it). I try to update it as needed

Uses for this font

Other

Please forgive any discrepancies between the images or other content on this page and the actual font.

Also, if anyone knows, I would really appreciate it if you could teach me something.

This font was created by importing SVG files made in Adobe Illustrator on Windows 11 into FontForge.
When I import SVG files into FontForge, jagged steps or protrusions appear near the starting point of the glyph (the point where the arrow is displayed), and it took a lot of time to fix them manually.
If anyone has encountered a similar phenomenon or has solved it, I would be very grateful if you could let me know. Thank you in advance.

This page is updated from time to time.
