Are texts with predetermined answers boring?
Stop it~~!!
This was a remark made by the usually
calm habit supporter shogo-san,
who retorted in an effeminate style reminiscent of IKKO
right at the start.
It's not IKKO,
it's SHOKKO!?
This was said after shogo-san was thanked
for introducing Yasu-san
on note.
Yesterday,
from my Stand.fm channel,
the three of us—Yasu-san, the organizer of the After-School Writing Club,
and habit supporter shogo-san—
did a Stand.fm broadcast.
46 people came to listen.
Seriously amazing!!
Everyone is interested, it seems.
My sworn friend Tatsunoko Ryujiro-san
summarized the content for us.
Is it a Stand.fm comment?
I'll paste it in the description,
so please check it out if you want to know more.
He has already written an article about yesterday's event.
Thank you so much!
(Sorry if I missed it)
Right off the bat,
Yasu-san started singing the Tunnels song
'Meiwaku Deshou ga...'
First of all, living is
a sad thing,
and because it's sad,
we live on...
He suddenly started muttering
the opening part of the song.
Moreover,
he kept going with the Tunnels bit for over 10 minutes.
I cried.
It's nothing but a nuisance!
Yasu-san, who goes by the nickname 'Sukashi no Yasu' (Cool Yasu),
hates predictable outcomes.
His desire not to be ordinary
started running wild
like a dump truck with broken brakes.
At this rate, it feels like it's going to become a 'Suka-fm' instead of a Stand.fm!
I can hear the invisible retorts
from all the listeners.
A chorus of 'Arkun, you're the moderator. Do something to stop that runaway train!'
Shogo-san, having been thrown off his rhythm,
finally became SHOKKO!
During Yasu-san's casual talk,
Shogo-san's whispering
"Distance~" also
(like "don-dake~")
really hits my funny bone.
Everyone,
I really want you to listen to this.
I highly recommend it♪
(Yasu-san's bit about Tunnels has been cut.)
I was panicking at the turbulent turn of events.
However, the two seasoned veterans
miraculously recovered from here.
And they kept dropping pearls of wisdom!
What Yasu-san said about
"limitations and constraints" was an eye-opener.
A limitation is a "deadline."
A constraint is a "theme" & restriction.
Because there is a deadline, you work desperately to finish.
Because there is a theme, you can play within it.
It seems it's hard to write articles when you have total freedom.
I feel like I understand that.
He said that the 10-minute break in elementary school
was a limitation.
Because there is no time, you think and play desperately.
I see. That's deep.
Furthermore,
"The bondage of angels. The freedom of devils."
Yasu-san said.
As expected of a master.
A magician of words. Bravo! Number one in Japan!!
Shogo-san, who is a pro at habit formation,
said,
"Writing every day
lowers the hurdle."
Is that so.
There was also the cool phrase,
"Posting every day
for the sake of tomorrow."
That was a cool thing to say.
If you write every day,
even if you have a day where you mess up,
you engrave that as a lesson in your heart
and post again tomorrow.
If you post once a week,
you get depressed over a single mistake.
Thinking that you don't have enough likes or aren't being watched.
But with daily posting,
there is no time to be depressed.
Because you have to keep writing.
(Who said it was the once-a-week delusion club!? No way! Is that a totally dangerous organization?)
What's amazing is,
he expressed it by saying he couldn't imagine himself not writing.
If you keep writing, you get to that point.
It was astonishing.
My thoughts are busy with a barrage of famous quotes.
Amidst all that,
the one that left the biggest impression on me
was a remark made by a professional writer
that Yasu-san shared.
“Pieces with predetermined answers
are uninteresting.”
Harmonious arrangements where everything from the theme to the structure is decided are boring.
The professional writer apparently said that
the pieces where even the author doesn't know
where they will land are actually the interesting ones.
Oh yeah~♪
I had the image that professional writers
wrote everything perfectly and logically,
starting from the title and theme.
But, I was wrong.
Sometimes the content changes
while I am in the middle of writing.
The title changes, too.
But, that is okay.
I was saved by those words.
I think there are many people like that among noters, too.
Please rest assured.
It is perfectly fine!
It seems Yasu-san himself
was actually worried about this too.
Hmm!?
At the beginning of the Stand.fm broadcast,
Yasu-san, who had turned into a runaway train, said something
that felt a bit off,
but well, that is fine! I forgive you.
(Who are you, anyway?)
To everyone who listened,
thank you so much.
I would be happy
if this helped resolve even a little bit of the writing worries that noters have♪
I haven't been able to pick up on every comment,
but please forgive me, as shogo-san wasn't the only one whose pace was thrown off by the runaway train.
Thank you for reading
until the end.
