Taking a Deep Breath at Oimachi Tracks: A Holiday Healed by Light, Wind, and Greenery
On May 13, 2026, I finally managed to visit 'Oimachi Tracks,' a place I had been curious about for a long time. Having heard it was a new landmark directly connected to the station, I imagined a cluster of modern buildings, but what spread out before me was a comfortable space where 'light, wind, and greenery' were truly the stars.
Light: Soft sunlight streaming into an open space
Passing through the new 'Tracks Gate' at Oimachi Station, the first thing that surprises you is the sense of openness. The pedestrian deck that stretches between the two high-rise towers is designed as an 'outdoor mall,' with many shops lined up along it.
Because it is designed without a roof, today's early summer sunlight pours softly down at my feet. The blue sky visible between the buildings feels wonderful. There are many cafes with terrace seating, and seeing everyone enjoying the sunshine in their own way was such a peaceful scene.
Wind: A pleasant breeze felt in the middle of the city
Another charm of this facility is the design that allows the 'wind' to pass through. As you walk along the pedestrian deck, you can always feel a pleasant breeze. It doesn't have the intensity of a building wind; instead, it blows through gently, as if it were perfectly calculated.
In particular, 'Tracks Park,' which spreads out on the west side of the facility, is the best place to feel the wind. The vast lawn area of approximately 4,600 square meters is truly an urban oasis. Families enjoying a picnic on spread-out leisure sheets, couples chatting with coffee in hand, and children running around energetically—everyone was spending a peaceful time while being blown by this pleasant breeze.
Greenery: A vivid lawn area spreading out in front of the station
And above all, what left the biggest impression was the abundant 'greenery.' I never imagined that such a spacious lawn area would spread out right next to the station.
The vivid green of 'Tracks Park' is gentle on the eyes and soothing to the heart. Taking out a drink from the adjacent Starbucks and sitting on the lawn to gaze at the sky was such a relaxing moment that it made me forget I was in the heart of the city. There are many people walking their dogs, and the fact that you can enjoy it with your pets is also a nice point.
A space for new discoveries and healing
Oimachi Tracks is not just new; it is a place that provides 'comfort' to those who visit. It also has the unique charm of a spectacular view of the adjacent train depot (a train view!), which is sure to excite even those who aren't train fans.
Whether it's shopping, gourmet food, or just taking a walk, you will feel satisfied. Why not spend a healing holiday at Oimachi Tracks, which is overflowing with 'light, wind, and greenery'?
