I am participating in the "Automatic" theme for I-san's project, "Kazemakase Literature Club".

"Automatic"

"It's finally finished!" The doctor says, breathing heavily and looking proud.

"Bravo, as expected of the doctor, a genius!" The [Automatic Compliment Machine: Hometaro] perched on the doctor's right shoulder praises him without delay.

"It is a machine to solve the rapidly increasing number of lonely deaths caused by complex factors such as the rise in single-person households, the weakening of community ties, economic hardship, poor mental health, and self-neglect—the [Automatic Retort Machine: Nandeyanen-taro]."

"I am impressed. As expected of you."

"Alright, let's start it up..."

The doctor presses the switch on Nandeyanen-taro's back.

Click! Vroom, a low, humming startup sound.

As soon as Nandeyanen-taro opens its eyes, it immediately retorts, "Why'd you turn the switch on!"

"Bravo, nice retort!" Hometaro praises it without delay.

"Why are you doing that? Don't retort to a retort, you idiot."

At this point, Hometaro's automatic safety device, the "Praise Stop Function," activates. It enters silent mode.

"Why are you going silent? Play the fool!"

"Bravo, nice fool-retort!" Hometaro restarts immediately and praises him.

"What are you talking about? That wasn't a fool-retort."

The Doctor watches the repetitive, fruitless exchange in silence...

"Next is the automatic mediator, I suppose..." he mutters under his breath.

"That is a wonderful idea, Doctor," Hometaro praises him immediately.

"Why are you doing that? Adjust me before you do that!" Tsukkomitaro retorts accurately.

Automatic was automatically automatic and truly the very essence of automatic.

Later, the [Automatic Mediator: Well, Well-Enough Taro] was developed, and no one yet knows that an automatic state of further chaos will be automatically born...

"Automatic was automatically automatic and truly the very essence of automatic" is just wordplay, so please don't think about it too deeply😊 It's meant to convey the nuance that automatic was extremely automatic. The ultimate automatic is a world where automatic is automatically born from automatic... which is automatic. Yes, I don't really understand it anymore either.
