Short Short: "Record of the Full Moon" #InspirationFromThreePrompts
I couldn't believe my eyes.
There was, without a doubt, a "Japanese wolf" right in front of me.
And in my right hand was a pen that rewrites destiny.
The Guardian of the Wolf had left behind a record of the full moon, and I had traced it with the tip of the pen.
...
Every time the pen tip slid across the space, the ink lines trembled and began to pulse.
At first, the simple black outline began to groan. Silver-gray fur began to bleed from within the lines. The soft light of the moonlight breathed life into the fur.
The snout bulged as if breaking through, and a wet, black nose appeared. The ears twitched, and the eyes opened. The moment those amber eyes fixed on me, the air changed. The phantom existence declared that it was truly "here" in this world.
The magic lines broke, and claws and paw pads stepped quietly onto the ground. The shadow drawn on the floor stood up, approaching me with three-dimensional mass. The fur swayed in the wind, the snout sniffed the air, and a low growl resonated from deep in its throat.
Grrrrrrr...
What stood there was the "Japanese wolf" that should have gone extinct long ago—no, it was another reality reconstructed from prayers and the memory of the full moon.
The wolf took one step, then another, drawing closer. Its footsteps were as quiet as the wind, yet they carried a definite weight.
I stood frozen, clutching the pen. The amber eyes were looking straight at me. There was no anger or hatred in them. There was only a deep stillness, as if it were confirming something.
At that moment, the air changed.
The world came to a standstill.
And then...
My vision suddenly went dark. Sound, color, and even gravity all faded away. The last thing that remained was my own reflection in the wolf's eyes.
It was not fear. It was simply an irresistible stroke of fate, as if I were being sucked into a great current.
The pen tip moved no more.
