I posted an article a while back saying, "I'm going to build an exchange lobby on Discord!" Do you remember that?

Since then, I've been making a little bit of progress.

Here's what it looks like right now—

Currently under construction.

I'm putting up signs for the rooms, writing the rules, and creating roles (like passes). Think of it as the stage where I'm polishing the floors and lining up chairs before opening the aquarium lobby ꉂꉂ(ᵔᗜᵔ*)

What's finished so far

Text chat room → Done! A place where residents can chat casually, saying things like "Good morning" or "Look at this!"

Voice chat cafe space → Done! Residents can talk freely with each other. Feel free to use it for working together too. (The director is an introvert, so I'm text-only. I won't be popping into voice chat.)

Special exhibition area for members only → Done! A room exclusively for membership members. Let me know after you join, and I'll give you a pass.

Rules → Done! I based them on the main Aquarium rules and adapted them for Discord.

Channel categorization by genre → Not yet! I plan to create these once more people gather and I can hear everyone's opinions.

🎫 Who can join

Residents of the Aquarium (co-managed magazine) or members of my membership. Please note that followers are not eligible this time.

💬 Text channels

Let's chat and have fun! Talk about creative work, daily life, reports like "I made this today!"—anything is fine.

Posting links to note articles is okay! Introducing your own work or sharing articles by other residents that caught your eye is very welcome.

Affiliate links and solicitation for external services are not allowed. This is meant to be a place for creators to interact, so I'm sorry about that.

Please refrain from discussing politics, religion, or aggressive topics. This is a lobby for enjoying creative work and casual conversation. Please take topics that are likely to cause conflict elsewhere.

Comments that make other residents uncomfortable or harassment are not allowed. Same as the main Akarium building. Let's protect this place so everyone can swim with peace of mind.

Oh, and sexual content is not allowed Ψ( 'ω'* )

🔊 Voice Channels

Residents are free to talk with each other! Feel free to use them for working together, chatting, or anything else.

Recording or streaming is not allowed. Please do not record, stream, or make public any conversations from the voice channels. This is an important rule to protect the peace of mind of our residents.

Those are the rules! They're pretty loose, but I've made sure to write down the parts I really need you to follow.

If there's anything you think should be done differently, please let me know in the comments. It's still under construction, so it can definitely be changed.

About who can join first

I'll be honest with you.

If I let everyone in all at once from the start, I won't be able to keep up with managing it.

I'm a director who works 17-hour days and falls asleep on the job, after all (lol)

So, I'm keeping the entrance a little narrow at first.

These are the people who can join right now!

Akarium residents (magazine participants) → Everyone who always lets their work swim here.

Akari's membership members → Everyone who always supports me.

For those of you thinking, "Wait, I can't get in!?", I'm so sorry! 💦

I plan to open up the entrance once everything is properly set up and the management system is ready, so please wait just a little longer.

Rather than rushing to open it and having things be messy, I want to make sure it's a comfortable place before I welcome everyone in.

It's still a work in progress, though.

To be honest, there are still parts where I'm feeling my way around, wondering, "Is this okay?"

Like, are these channel names okay, or are these rules sufficient?

That's why I want to build it together with everyone who joins, listening to your feedback like, "I'd like this part to be a bit different" or "I want a room like this."

I don't want to wait until it's finished to release it; I want it to be a lobby that we grow together.

That's how it was with Akarium, right? It started with zero residents, and it became what it is today because you all swam in.

I'm going to grow the community lobby the same way! ✨
