Currently Preparing for a Workshop

As I mentioned in a previous post, I am currently planning an acting workshop with some of my former colleagues (*^_^*)

For the workshop, I am thinking of doing a little bit of acting, singing, and dancing.

The schedule is for two days, three hours each.
I am wondering how much we can get through, including self-introductions, warm-ups, and isolations.

I have a mountain of things I want to do, but I will be careful not to get ahead of myself and leave everyone behind, yes... (^^;)

By the way, as I wrote in a past post, this workshop was planned by two people: her, who overcame a serious illness, and me.

We added two more reliable members to that, making a total of four people in the planning room to prepare for the workshop.

Man, I'm getting so excited! ☆*:.。. o(≧▽≦)o .。.:*☆

Whooooooooaaaaaaa!

It is possible to do dance, singing, and even acting alone, but...

It is definitely more fun to do it with everyone, right? \(^O^)/ Yay!

So, I've written a script for the workshop~!(^_^)b

I wrote a simple, short piece with few characters, so I plan to try it out with various combinations.

I'm thinking of doing a table read while sitting in chairs on the first day, and then standing up and actually moving around on the second day.

Moving while acting is actually really difficult, you know.

It's fine while you're saying your own lines, but when you finish, or when someone else is speaking, you don't know how you should move.

I'd try to step back quietly so as not to get in the way. That looked unnatural. It just made me stand out even more💦

A long time ago, during rehearsals, I was given only my lines and told to move however I felt like.

It was a two-person scene, and as I said my lines, I moved little by little until I reached the center and stood face-to-face with my partner, and then...

"Akimi-chan! If you do that, you won't be able to move from there."

Those were the sharp words from my teacher.

Huh? What do you mean I won't be able to move?(゚Д゚)💦

I soon understood what the teacher meant. I ended up standing there like a statue, facing my partner until my final line was finished.(´д`)

I want to use the stage more broadly!

Even if you think that, since it's an interaction with another person, you can't just suddenly turn your back and start moving. It's like being paralyzed.

Ugh, this is difficult! 💦

While I was holding my head in frustration,

This is fun! ٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و💕

I thought. Challenging yourself with difficult things is fun, isn't it?

I couldn't understand it during that rehearsal, but after watching professional performances a few times, I felt like I understood it just a little bit.

If you ever have the chance to watch a stage performance, please take a close look at the movements.

Just because it is a scene with back-and-forth dialogue does not mean you stay frozen facing each other right in the center.

The stage is like an unstable tray placed on top of a ball, and the pieces (the actors) on it must balance themselves perfectly.

If everyone gathers on just one side of the stage, the visual balance becomes very poor.

If the other person is on the far right, you go to the far left.
If they move forward, you move back.
Move in opposition, using the center as an axis.

I haven't fully mastered it yet, but there are rules like that, aren't there?
There are basics, and there are variations, and being able to pull them off naturally is what makes a pro 🌟

Of course, I am nowhere near the level of a professional, but I would like to try that out a little bit in this workshop. (`・ω・´)ゞ

That said, I am not at a level where I can instruct others.

There will be no instructor for this workshop, as we plan to do it entirely among the members.

"This is the correct answer"

No one has anything like that.

But precisely because of that,

"This way doesn't work out well..."
"Then, what should we do?"

I would like to explore these things together with everyone by building upon them (o^^o)

By the way, continuing from last time, I have to talk about M-1 2025 again.

Did you watch it? The routine by the winning duo, "Takuro".

Mr. Akagi. That man is way too good at acting! (゚Д゚)💦

For those who haven't seen it, let me explain: the format of "Takuro's" routine is not

・Funny man
・Straight man

the conventional pattern, but rather

・Unreasonable demands
・Being forced to respond to them

is how it is structured.

The partner wearing glasses, Kimura Band, says,

"I kind of want to try being a ring announcer~"
"But I'm not confident in my vocal projection, so I want us to take turns doing it~"

and throws out the premise.

Akagi-kun is panicking.

“Huh?”
“Why?”

Kimura Band presses Akagi-kun, who is in a state of, “What are you suddenly talking about?? Σ(゚д゚lll)”

“Well then, let’s try it together.”
“Uh, w-what should I say? Me?”

Akagi-kun hasn't prepared anything yet. However,

“First, from the blue corner, 164 centimeters tall, weighing 59 kilograms!”

Kimura Band suddenly starts acting as a ring announcer. Yes, with a look that says it’s your turn next,

“Uh, ge-, gentle personality...”

Akagi-kun shouts something that sounds plausible in desperation.

“IBF Super Flyweight Champion!”

Kimura Band shouts again. Huh? Is this continuing? Are we still doing this? Σ(;゚ω゚ノ)ノ

“Uh... PCR... ah, 5 years in a row... uh, positive...”

He improvises like it’s a comedy show, matching only the tone of the other person.

Pay attention to Akagi-kun’s expression at this moment!

Acting like you’re at a loss for words is something that can get better with practice.
But that look in his eyes—the way they dart around—it’s just too realistic, as if he’s desperately thinking about the unreasonable request he was just given!

It’s so incredibly realistic that the audience really laughs!

Of course, I did too. I laughed so much.

...But wait a minute?

There's no way this is the first time I've heard this, right?

On the contrary, they've been practicing like crazy, haven't they?

This is material they've rehearsed behind the scenes, performed on stage many times, and polished, isn't it?

Once again, I'm getting chills! (*゚Д゚)Σ

No, no, some truly amazing people have appeared.

In many ways, I can't take my eyes off of Takuro.

Wait, I meant to upload the script for the workshop here, but it's gotten long again. (^_^;)

I will save that for the next post.

Actually, my pen was gliding so well (in a good way) that I ended up writing two scripts when I only needed one.

So, I will publish them in the next post and the one after that. Please read them if you'd like.

Although I've written two scripts, I haven't finished the dance choreography yet. This is bad 💦

But I actually feel more motivated when my tasks are backed up! I'll do my best! Yeah! (≧∇≦)b

But I think I can leave that for tomorrow or later... I worked plenty hard today. Yep. I'm tired... (_ _)zzz

Bonus:

The 'Frieren: Beyond Journey's End' jigsaw puzzle was completed on the last day of the New Year holidays, just as planned~♪
Even though it was a gift my eldest daughter received from Santa, she let me place the final piece since I was the one who worked on it the most seriously. Thank you, my daughters.

It's 1000 pieces and a mosaic, so it's seriously tough 💦

I mean, Mom can't even see such tiny pictures anymore 💦

That said, I love jigsaw puzzles, so it was fun even though it was difficult~!
If you like jigsaw puzzles and you like Frieren, I recommend it even more. It makes you remember Frieren's famous scenes and want to watch it again.
Oh, the second season starts next week! I really need to review it!

However, be careful if you decide to take on this puzzle. Even with three people working on it for five hours every day, it takes a week. (๑•̀ㅂ•́)و✧
