My thoughts after trying Claude Code and Codex as someone who cannot write code

The reason I started using Claude Code and Codex.

Honestly, just looking at the screen felt unfamiliar.

I have never had any experience with software development in my life.

I recently tried out the much-talked-about "Claude Code" and "Codex".

To conclude, I haven't built any impressive systems yet, nor have I mastered any programming languages.

However, by interacting with these two, I feel a sense of excitement in my heart that I have never felt before.

The first one I tried, "Claude Code," was, to be honest, something from another world for me.

It is a tool that runs on the so-called "black screen (terminal)" that programmers often use. There are no icons or buttons; you interact with the AI using only text. For someone with absolutely no development experience, just the "unfamiliar look" of that screen makes me feel intimidated.

Wow, I might have come to the wrong place...

The truth is, staring at the screen, I even felt a sense of intimidation.

The one that saved me from that was my other partner, "Codex."

I think the ease of use of Codex lies in the fact that you can proceed while asking questions. Even if I lack knowledge and don't know how to express things, if I honestly ask, "What should I do next?", it gently guides me through conversation.

"What should I do if I want to do this?" "What does that mean?"

The sense of security that comes from being able to move forward step by step by playing catch with each other. Because of this, I feel that even someone like me, who knows nothing about programming, can connect with the technology on the other side of the screen.

Objectively speaking, my AI development (a trial and error process that feels presumptuous to even call that) has just reached the starting line.

Nothing is finished yet. There is still so much to come. There is still so much room for growth.

But the time I spend feeling nervous about the black screen full of text and feeling relieved by the dialogue with the AI, reaching out to new technology, is incredibly stimulating.

Now that I have discovered the "joy of learning new things and updating myself," this thought is rising quietly but strongly in my heart.

I still want to keep living.

I want to see more of this interesting era where new technologies are born one after another. Together with my partner, AI, I want to expand my possibilities more and more.

In my 50s, with no experience. Although I haven't created anything yet, my "future" has only just begun.
