With zero musical knowledge, I used Gemini to build the lyrics and world-view, spun the Suno AI gacha 45 times, and finally narrowed it down to two candidate songs.

And this time, I want you all to choose which of those two songs should be the theme song.

First of all, what is a "Suki Video"?

The "Suki Video" referred to here is a video that can be set as a reaction message displayed when someone clicks "Suki" on note.

It's a bit long to explain formally, so I've taken the liberty of calling it a "Suki Video".

A small souvenir gently handed to the person who finished reading the article at the very end.

That is how I think of Suki Videos.

Why did I suddenly start making music?

The reason is simple.

Because I wanted a theme song that could be played at the end of the contest.

I want to create even more mechanisms for everyone to enjoy leading up to the "Summer Battle" on July 22nd.

The next challenge I took on with that in mind was,

"I want to make an MV for Suki Videos"

that was it.

With that thought, I decided to challenge myself to music production for the first time in my life.

But, I don't know anything about music (lol).

So this time, I left almost everything up to the AI.

The lyrics are AI.
The melody is AI.
I'm at the level of, 'Verse? Rhyme? BPM? What are those?'

However,

The one who decides 'I like this' at the end is me.

That was the one thing I absolutely wouldn't compromise on.

45 AI gacha pulls. A one-man audition in front of the screen.

First, I worked with Gemini to create the lyrics and the world-building.

What I wanted to convey was something like this.

Suki-Doga is a small souvenir for those who read it.
A 5-second act of hospitality.
Something that packs gratitude tightly into a small 10MB file.

I gave that image to Gemini and had it turn it into lyrics.

And for the music, I asked Suno to help.

However, the very first attempt already had a pretty good vibe.

Suno is amazing.
I was truly surprised!

The direction of the melody was decided right there.

After that, I just kept pulling the gacha until I got the ideal singing style and groove.

It really felt like I was holding a one-man audition in front of my screen.

'The feeling is a bit off...'
'Oh, I actually like this part here!'
'This one is close!'
'No, maybe this one sounds more like an ending?'

Saying things like that, I pulled it 45 times.

As a result, I was finally able to narrow it down to two songs.

But then, a problem arose.

Both are good.

A song that leaves a quiet lingering impression is nice.
A song that builds up to a big finish is also nice.

If it's to be played at the end of the Summer Battle, which scene fits better?

Since we're at it, I'll introduce the two candidate songs by giving each one a “singer's image character” to go with it.

It is a dramatic vocal performance where the emotions build up increasingly toward the second half.

It is a singing voice that seems to race through to the end with that kind of momentum.

It has an overwhelming sense of an ending that makes you want to link arms with everyone and sing the big chorus.

I really wanted to include that in the lyrics.

Also, that joy I felt when I made my first 'Suki' video. The excitement of seeing my own video gently animate at the end of my article.

I wanted to convey that feeling to everyone, too.

2. Songs with rhymes are just cool

I don't know anything about music.

But songs that use rhymes are just cool, aren't they?

So I asked Gemini, 'Can you make it sound like it's rhyming?'

This part is purely based on intuition (laughs).

But intuition is important, isn't it? Because at the end of the day, whether something feels good to listen to isn't about logic, it's about just 'liking it'.

3. I wanted to include '10MB'

Suki videos have a 10MB limit, don't they?

Even though note videos can go up to 20MB, Suki videos are limited to 10MB.

Everyone is desperately adjusting things, changing resolutions or lowering the FPS just to fit it into that 10MB, right?

Honestly, at first I thought,

10MB? That's so little!

But I really wanted to include that grit in the lyrics.

Besides, the sound of 'ten megabytes' is kind of funny.

I felt like it would be catchy if I put it in the lyrics, so I definitely wanted to use it (laughs).

The feeling of packing your passion into 10MB for just five seconds of hospitality.

Doesn't it feel a bit like a Suki Video?

In the end, I want to make an MV that includes everyone's Suki Videos.

This time, I created two candidate songs for the theme song.

And at the end of the Suki Video Contest Summer Battle, I want to create an MV based on this song.

It won't just be adding visuals to the music.

I want to make it into one ending MV that incorporates the Suki Videos you all submitted to the Summer Battle.
