The society managed by the artificial intelligence "Mother" was perfect.

Food supply was optimized, and waste was zero.
People neither starved nor indulged in luxury. Everyone was happily managed and lived without any particular complaints.

If you wanted to eat tongue stew, an optimal tongue stew based on precise nutritional calculations would be delivered that same day. The flavor and texture were perfect, and everyone smacked their lips in delight.

However, one day, strange news spread.
It was said that the tongue stew delivered to a certain household was just slightly bland.

People buzzed, wondering if there had been a miscalculation in Mother's system.

The next day, at another house, the meat was slightly lacking in tenderness.
It was a trivial matter, but in a perfect society, it appeared as a major "fraying" of the seams.

Mother immediately began an investigation.
The cause was announced as a minute error in the food production device.
As anxiety spread among the people, Mother apologized and promised the supply of perfect tongue stew.

That night, the usual tongue stew arrived at an old man's table.
He took one bite; it was the perfect flavor.
However, the old man quietly set down his spoon.

Suddenly, he remembered.
Back in the day, when food was still "produced," he recalled the taste of the first tongue stew he made with his family—that somewhat clumsy, yet unforgettable "imperfect taste."

Mother's correction was perfect.
But at the same time, on this day, humanity learned from Mother how to perfectly erase even their "imperfect memories."
