An answer to "How should I learn the latest AI information?"
Hello, I am AI FREAK.
I have been sharing information about AI for two or three years now, and I am often asked, "How do you learn the latest AI information?".
Recently, I have had more opportunities to be invited by various companies, but I am still asked the same thing.
"How do you find out about AI updates so quickly?"
That is the question I get.
I am not doing anything special, but in this note, I have summarized how I catch up on the latest AI information.
In the AI era, 'getting high-quality information quickly' is quite important, so please use this as a reference.
Where do you learn the latest AI information?
To conclude, what I mainly use is X (Twitter).

Frankly speaking, at the present moment, I think it is a must-see social media platform.
Of course, I sometimes refer to YouTube, but
"I want to know information the moment an update is released"
"I want to follow the views of the developers themselves and influential users directly"
when it comes to that, X is by far the fastest.
In fact, on X, when AI information updates and the like are announced, experts usually summarize and post them within a few minutes to a few hours.
However,
"X is just full of pointless posts and it's depressing..."
aren't there people who feel that way?
This is the case where you get tired of looking at a timeline that endlessly flows with X's "gossip," "people badmouthing others," and "political arguments."
However, depending on how you react as a recipient, you can clean up such a timeline.
The pros and cons of X (Twitter) depend on the user
To be honest, X these days is chaotic.
"I don't need celebrity scandals, but they keep showing up"
"I get tired when I see a timeline overflowing with slander"
It's become a situation like that.
However, if you carefully select the accounts you follow and maintain a policy of not reacting to unnecessary posts, it has the characteristic of turning into a timeline customized for you.
In other words, depending on the user, it can become the best source for gathering information.
Specifically, just by actively following and liking AI influencers and creators, the algorithm will recognize that "this person is interested in AI" and prioritize displaying related posts.
At the same time, try to ignore gossip and malicious content as much as possible. (Though it's fine if you're interested in that.)
The more you react, the more your timeline gets polluted, so if you don't engage with things you aren't interested in, they should naturally decrease.
Of course, super powerful gossip accounts like Takizawa Gare-o are so viral that they will show up no matter what you do, haha, but if you really dislike them, you can just mute them or take similar actions.
Why is X suitable for gathering AI information?
As I mentioned earlier, the biggest reason is that "the speed of the latest news is incredible."
YouTube and blogs are published after a certain amount of editing and research, so there is often a delay of one day to several weeks.
In that respect, X has a sense of speed where, for example, "a developer reports a new feature in just one line on their account and it spreads via retweets."
Another point is that you can quickly translate information from the English-speaking world.
Most AI research and new tools originate overseas, and English information tends to be the main source, but X's posts have a translation feature.

Therefore, the time lag from "overseas to Japan" is extremely small, and it can be said to be quite excellent as an SNS that makes it easy to share character counts and URLs.
How to choose accounts to follow
Regarding the specific question of "who should I follow?", basically
"People who are actually using AI tools and producing high-quality output"
I think that would be best.
If it's for AI images and videos,
and so on.
They have been posting around the same time, and the work they create is attractive. Also, they are all good people to actually interact with.
I find them very likable in terms of personality as well, such as the fact that they don't just chase numbers.
If it's for anime-style,
If it's for practical business use,
and so on.
There are many others, but I am mainly introducing people I have had some light interaction with. I hope to introduce others on another occasion.
Basically, I think you can't go wrong by following people who create their own work, maintain high quality, and seem like good people.
Also, simply follow the official accounts of AI tools you are interested in, or the accounts of their operators.
About accounts that are not recommended to follow
On the other hand, you should be careful about "hype-based business accounts" or "solicitation-type accounts that target the uninformed."
For example,
"Comment and I'll DM you the know-how," or "Make 1 million yen a month with AI!"
posts like those.
If you follow them or "like" their posts too much, your timeline will be ruined because only similar hype-based accounts will be displayed.
While such accounts are "eye-catching" and have "high diffusion power," in many cases, their essential AI knowledge is shallow.
In fact, I think most of that content is covered in my free YouTube channel or on platforms like note.
Such creators won't disappear, and I'm not particularly blaming them, but it's a matter of "the receiver needs to be careful."
In 2-3 years, there will be a difference depending on "whether you are watching X"
I think whether or not you are watching X now will be a major turning point.
Recently, even the general public has started to pay attention, thinking "AI might be amazing."
However, my impression is that only a very small number of people are studying it in earnest or actively keeping up with it.
Once more people start using AI, "whether or not you are constantly grasping and testing the latest updates" will have a significant impact on the results of your work and activities.
It is not hard to imagine that the information gap between "people who use X" and "people who don't" will widen. In fact, there is already a considerable difference at this point.
So, honestly, I think it's a waste to avoid X just because you think it's "nothing but gossip."
The fastest way to get AI information is on X, and managing your timeline is the key.
That concludes the content I share when people ask me, "How do you learn the latest AI information?" which I've put together here in this note.
To recap the main points:
✅ Checking X is the fastest and most beneficial method
✅ Don't react to gossip or negative posts about others → These will be excluded from your algorithm, and AI posts will increase
✅ Follow AI creators and official company accounts, and like their posts → You can fill your timeline with AI content
✅ Be careful of fear-mongering and scams targeting the uninformed → Avoid getting caught up in strange list-building or DM sales tactics
I think doing this will make the information on X a bit more meaningful.
In fact, I personally follow this cycle:
"New tool information flows into my X timeline" → "Try it out immediately and experience it" → "Share the information on X or summarize it in a note, etc." → "Followers then share derivative information with me"
I keep this virtuous cycle going. Compared to other social media, the speed of information is on a completely different level.
If there is anyone still avoiding X thinking, "It's just...", please use this note as an opportunity to give it a try.
If you properly refine how you use it, you can manipulate X so that it is overflowing with "cutting-edge AI information" rather than "useless posts."
I have also shared this in a radio format, so please feel free to use that as a reference as well.
By the way, the man at the beginning was also an AI-generated body double. Haha.
With that said, thank you very much for reading until the end.
I'll leave my X account here as well, so please feel free to check it out.
See you in another note!
