[Please Share] Crime Prevention Fairy Tale Video | Do You Have Someone You Can Talk To? | Something You Should Know in the Reiwa Era
When you hear the word "crime prevention,"
don't you feel like it's someone else's problem?
But in reality,
just being careful of bad peopleisn't enough to keep you safe.
You can't tell anyone.
You can't talk to anyone.
You're scared, but you don't know what to do.
It is precisely because we live in such times that
there is a video I want adults to watch.

Previously, fairy tale writer Setsuei-san wrote an article about"Crime Prevention Fairy Tales."
A video planned and scripted by Setsuei-san has now been completed.
It was directed and produced by Shuntana Hank of Studio Hank.
First, please take a look at this 13-minute video.
And please subscribe to the channel as well.
Actually, there is also a 9-minute version.
If you read Hank-san's article, you will understand even more deeply the thoughts and production background put into the video.
And here is the article by Setsuei-san, who planned and wrote the script for this crime prevention fairy tale.
I want this video to be watched
not only by middle and high school students,
but first and foremost by adults.
I attended a public junior high school that was said to be the second-lowest in the region.
It was the Showa era, when there were many children.
There were 9 classes per grade.
Violence, delinquency, crime.
I saw these things not as stories from a distant world, but right in front of me.
There were many things back then, too.
But I feel like there is a different kind of fear now.
SNS, anonymity, isolation.
Theseedsare different from the past.
Why won't bad things go away?
That is something I don't know either.
But one thing I do think is that
the "power to protect yourself"is necessary.
And so is
"talking to someone."
It's not that I have lived my life without knowing this kind of world at all.
When you encounter a situation where you feel you are in danger,
how do you protect yourself?
Don't get close.
Run away.
Don't ignore that feeling that something is wrong.
That is also important.

But, what is truly important might be
not keeping it all to yourself.
It could be family,
a friend,
or a teacher.
Having someone you can talk to.
…As I write this,
I am actually someone who, in the past, could not do that.
That is exactly why I think this.
If you cannot talk to someone close to you,
someone far away is fine too.
Someone you can talk to with peace of mind.
Someone you can consult.
I want you to have that kind of relationship
at some point in your life.
Even after becoming an adult,
there are many things you cannot say
because you think, "I don't want to worry them"
or "I don't want to be a burden."
That is precisely why
you should always have a place where you can talk.
That, too,
might be a form of crime prevention.

The power to protect yourself is not just about strength.
I believe that being able to say "help me" is also a life skill.
✨Thank you for coming by today as well✨
I believe that an increase in adults who want to protect someone will surely lead to the safety of children.
