[Short Short] 'Heart-Throbbing Toe Shoes'
An artwork titled 'Heart-Throbbing Toe Shoes' was exhibited.
Professional ballet dancers spend a great deal of effort customizing their toe shoes for personal use, and they consume them in a short period of time. Once they have served their purpose, the shoes have no choice but to be discarded.
An artist who appeared to be a newcomer named 'eyes' used these discarded shoes for an object d'art. There were branches extending radially from a central axis, with the shoes arranged upon them. On the central LCD panel, a photograph of a young, beautiful ballet dancer, presumably the owner of the toe shoes, appeared.
'The focus is good. Though it lacks a bit of spice.'
A renowned critic evaluated it as such.
However, the essence of the work lay elsewhere.
In the latter half of the exhibition period, the dancer's image was no longer on the LCD panel.
The camera attached to the panel had been secretly filming the audience.
The panel displayed edited footage. It showed men sniffing the shoes when they thought no one was looking.
Including that very critic.
