The Japanese version of 'Zootopia 2' features actors doing the voice acting.

'Zootopia 2' set a record for opening day box office revenue
even as a foreign animated film.
One of the characteristics of this work is that
most of the voice actors, both in the original country and the Japanese version, are actors.

Using popular actresses for promotional purposes
is good for publicity, but
after all, actors and voice actors have different skills.
Actors perform using their whole bodies, but
voice actors perform using only their voices.
Inevitably, it becomes impossible to rely solely on actors.
This time, the lead is Aya Ueto.
It would have been less noticeable if the partner role was also played by an actor, but
the partner is Toshiyuki Morikawa.
He is a super veteran voice actor.

Others include Noriko Eguchi, Ryosuke Yamada, Tomio Umezawa, and Masahiro Takashima.
Ami from Dream, Takahashi from Savanna,
Kumamoto Pro-Wrestling from Benishoga, and Jumbo Takao from Rainbow,
making for a mysterious casting.

What makes it complicated is that famous voice actors like Masako Nozawa, Wataru Takagi, Nana Mizuki, and Hiro Shimono
are participating in droves.
There are many others besides these.
Conversely, Jumbo Takao ends up standing out.

Actors and TV personalities have participated in
dubbing foreign films before, but
there are many times I think, 'Hmm...'
Some people are a perfect fit, but
most just end up reading the script.
Focusing only on the voice
is truly difficult.
