Germany recommends that those under 30 should not receive the Moderna vaccine

Stiko (Germany's Standing Committee on Vaccination) recommends only the BioNTech (Pfizer) vaccine for those under 30.
Young people can develop heart muscle inflammation after receiving the CCP virus vaccine. Since this phenomenon occurs more frequently with Moderna than with BioNTech, Moderna should not be administered to those 30 and under.
The Moderna vaccine is currently only recommended by Stiko for people 30 and older.

Stiko referred to the latest analytical data to justify its decision. These results showed that in younger age groups, the incidence of inflammation of the heart muscle and pericardium is higher after receiving the Moderna vaccine than after receiving the BioNTech vaccine. However, the course of these inflammations was mainly mild.
Stiko's recommendation also applies to booster vaccinations
Stiko's new recommendation applies not only to basic vaccinations but also to booster vaccinations.In other words, people under 30 who received Moderna should receive their second, and in some cases third, vaccine dose with BioNTech.
According to Stiko, there is no increased risk of heart muscle inflammation for people 30 and older. Furthermore, experts state that when pregnant women are vaccinated, they should be offered BioNTech regardless of their age.
