MUSCLE ATTACK 10th ANNIVERSARY LIVE 2023.5.13

This was my first live show of 2023, and for the BREAKERZ circle, it was the first live show with vocal cheering allowed since COVID! Here are my rambling thoughts. They are unnecessarily long.

Unfortunately, it was raining on this day. But it was only enough to get by with a folding umbrella, and the temperature was warm enough to wait in my live T-shirt before the doors opened.

At the merchandise booth, I of course also got a SHINPEI solo cheki photo. Mine was Shinpy wearing the live T-shirt from that day, making a peace sign without sunglasses.

My friend's had SHINPEI in a solo T-shirt with sunglasses, so it seems there is a nice variety in the outfits.

I don't remember the setlist, but both parts combined covered all the songs from the MUSCLE ATTACK album plus new songs so... I think there were 14 songs each (supposedly).

【1st】Doors open 15:30 / Start 16:00
Thanks to having a single-digit serial number, I was in the front row, center. The stage is quite high, so I was looking up at Shinpy right in front of me...! It had been so long since I'd cheered that I panicked because I couldn't get my voice out for the member call, haha.

As he mentioned on the radio, Shinpy seems to consider sunglasses as standard equipment for MUSCLE ATTACK.

Runner’s High was the start of the long-awaited MUSCLE ATTACK sound, and it felt so good.
It continued with high-energy songs like BURNISH HEART, and it was full throttle from the very beginning. My ears were already ringing by this point.

What I know for sure is that the flow of FIRE!!, SPREE was seriously the best. So much fun. I want to mosh again. And I love Jong-kun's singing! Thank you so much for coming back!

During the MC, for the first member call in a while, HIDEHIRO-san said, “I want to record this!”, and I thought I wanted to be recorded too (?).

Also, Hide-san mentioned that the secret live show before the MUSCLE ATTACK debut was at Chelsea Hotel, which is in the basement of this venue. Muscle Attack (was that it?) haha

TIME GOES ON was a SHINPEI acoustic performance. The other three were just watching. I think this was the first time Shinpy took off his sunglasses and put them on his head. I already loved this song, but he sang it so emotionally that I cried. Toward the end, Hide-san made a drum gesture, made eye contact with the two of them, and came onto the stage. The last part was played by all four of them. What was that performance? It made me cry even more.

Following Hide-san's comment, “Haven't the two people other than SHINPEI changed their body types?”, we had Muscle Gain, Fat Loss!! THIS IS DIE(T) is seriously so much fun. MUSCLE ATTACK is all about going wild and using your voice.

It felt so good to be able to cheer during the encore too.

The members appeared in their live T-shirts here. Shinpy took off his sunglasses, and the three of them appeared wearing SHINPEI's sunglasses as a gag, but then there was a Shinpy birthday surprise haha. I'm happy I could sing the birthday song out loud. He blew out the candles on the cake and then touched on the three of them wearing his sunglasses again, haha.

Come to think of it, we took a photo with the audience in the background here, but where can I see that photo??

The three of them saying “I can't see in front of me as well as I thought” really cracked me up. From Shinpy's perspective, “I don't know how you all perform in such brightness” he said, haha.

The last song of the encore was the new song Unlucky Days. I wonder if Shunp-niisan wrote it. It had a musical style and worldview that was very MUSCLE ATTACK.

I've already written too much just for the 1st part.
After the show, there was the premium cheki session. The BREAKERZ tour was before the live show, but this time it's after the show, which is brutal... (I'm someone whose P-tickets for BRZ were all rejected)

It was in order of serial number, so my turn came up pretty quickly, and I wasn't mentally prepared for anything, so I looked terrible in the photo.

I only had enough time to use the restroom after the cheki session before heading straight to the 2nd show. Since I had an even earlier entry number, I was back inside the venue in an instant.

And once again, I took up the same spot lol

As expected, the 2nd show started with MUSCLE PARTY. It’s a song that really screams 'This is MUSCLE ATTACK!' Hercules Road is the same, but Shinpei is just incredibly good at writing songs that shine in a live setting.

My favorites, I WANNA ROCK ’N’ ROLL, Cry Boy, BRAND NEW DOOR, and My BLOODY BUNNY were all in the 2nd show, I believe. Well, since they were going to play all the songs anyway, there was a sense of security knowing I’d definitely get to hear my favorites.

I thought if there was an acoustic segment in the 2nd show, it might be BLUE SKY BLUE? But there wasn't an acoustic segment in the 2nd show (sad). Come to think of it, I could hear them playing as a full band while I was waiting in the merch line.

There was no birthday surprise for the 2nd show's encore. As expected, the show ended with a new song.

The MC for the 2nd show was mostly the same as the 1st.

And during the 2nd encore, Shinpei put his foot on the barrier in front of me and leaned over, and it was so close that I could feel his body heat lol

Holding onto that excitement, I went to the 2nd cheki session. Even though my turn came up in an instant, I learned from my experience in the 1st session and stayed calm for the photo.

Shinpei said to me, “You were watching from the best spot.” I got so embarrassed that, in the end, the photo didn't turn out well.

Like that, it was a live event day that felt both long and fleeting. After the show, I checked the official site and saw that the next SHINPEI solo show had been announced, which got me even more hyped. They didn't announce it at the live, did they? Maybe because it's a solo show. But if I could ask for one thing, I want the next MUSCLE ATTACK event too...!

Oh, by the way, during the MC, they talked about what they’d want to do for an event other than a live show. Jong-kun said visiting haunted spots, and Hide-san said fishing. BBQ party, karaoke party, banquet (drinking party)... I could only think of things like company events lol.
I really, really hope Field Trip Attack becomes a reality!!

Since it had been about half a year since the last live show, I took advantage of the barrier to headbang and fold with all my might, and I successfully ended up with terrible muscle pain. It took 3 days before I could finally look down. But honestly, this feeling is great. MUSCLE ATTACK was so much fun!!
