I managed to create 2,000 yen in passive income [Foreign Currency Trading Diary 6]
Hello! This is Yuki, currently on a trip to Kochi without a J-League match for the first time in a while!

Sorry for the food porn (lol)
This time, I'm going to share the trading status from Tuesday, July 15th to Wednesday, July 16th with everyone!
My money has increased, so J-League clubs, please take a look.
Let's get right into it.

Review of the previous note
First, let's start with a warm-up review of the last time. The balance as of 3:04 AM on Saturday, July 12th was as follows.

The breakdown was:
🇺🇸US Dollar
- Savings account 10,006 yen,
- Time deposit 50,471 yen,
🇪🇺Euro
- Savings account 20,115 yen,
🇯🇵Japanese Yen
20,292 yen
That was it.
There was talk about whether to convert the Japanese yen into strong Swiss francs, but I decided to keep it in Japanese yen for the weekend when trading is not possible and wait and see.
That concludes the review up to last time.
Based on this, let's check the trading status for Wednesday, July 16th and Thursday, July 17th, which is the main topic this time.
US Dollar Purchase
I received a notice from Sony Bank. It looked like this inside.

As it says, it seems to be a campaign where the fee for purchasing US dollars, Australian dollars, New Zealand dollars, and South African rand becomes 0 yen.
The period is until Saturday.
Normally, a purchase fee of about 0.15 yen per dollar is charged for US dollars, but this means that it will not be charged for this week only.

Since it's a good opportunity, I used the 20,000 yen I had left over last time to buy US dollars!
It was just under 148 yen, and I figured it would go back up soon, so I bought it at 147.70 yen per dollar!

The breakdown at this point (Tuesday, 7/15, 1:07 AM) looks like this.
Adding the 292 yen in unrealized gains in Japanese yen, the total balance has become 101,014 yen.
I want to do my best to keep it from dropping below 101,000 yen.
All-time high profit
This happened the next day.
Now, I will proceed to resolve the foreshadowing in the title.
As of 1:23 PM on Wednesday, 7/16, the total balance reached an all-time high of 101,908 yen!
Since the initial capital provided was 100,000 yen, this means I earned nearly 2,000 yen in passive income.

What do you think?
I managed to get my hands on two hours' worth of part-time wages without working.
Now, I'll list a few things you can get for 2,000 yen, so please take a look while drooling.
・Two servings of seared bonito (approx. 800 yen each)
・Two Tosaden one-day passes (2,000 yen)
・One child's ticket for the Niitaka Kochi sightseeing boat (2,000 yen)
By the way, why did the balance increase so much in just one day?
The answer lay in the prices of the US dollar and the Euro.
Surprisingly, the US dollar, which had been hovering in the 147 yen range, hit 1 dollar = 149.04 yen! And the Euro also broke through the 173 yen barrier to reach 1 Euro = 173.04 yen.
I think many people can't imagine how amazing this is.
I don't really understand it either, but the last time the US dollar was in the 149 yen range was April 1st, so it's a situation that hasn't happened in 3 months. Long live the weak yen!

By the way, as for the Euro, it's said that it's been 1 year since it last reached the 173 yen range.
In last month's match between Ehime FC and Renofa, Ehime FC won, marking their first home victory in 10 months.
This is also shocking, but it seems the Euro had been stagnant for an even longer period.
Selling US Dollars!
Well, after hitting a record high profit around 1:00 PM, I could have converted back to Japanese yen to prevent losing those gains due to a sudden crash, but I decided not to sell, thinking the dollar-yen rate might still rise further.
However, it never climbed back into the 150 yen range after that, hovering instead in the high 148 yen range.
Unable to watch any longer, Yuki-kun decided at 7:15 PM on Wednesday, July 16th, to sell a portion of his US dollars and secure the profit 🤩

When I bought 20,000 yen worth of US dollars the previous day, it came to 135.40 dollars, so I decided to try selling that same amount in US dollars.
(At this point, I realized that selling the same amount in dollars is a better way to understand the actual profit amount than selling the same amount in Japanese yen, which is what I had been doing.)
What I bought for 20,000 yen came back as 20,408 yen.
With this, I was able to make a profit of 408 yen. I think I'll buy some stadium food that's been marked down to half price after the match.

The total balance is now 101,602 yen! It's a little less than the record high profit of 101,908 yen, but it's still a significant increase!
Victory is starting to look within reach, isn't it?

Conclusion
The above is the trading status for the two days of Tuesday, July 15th, and Wednesday, July 16th.
About 10 days have passed since the championship began, and my impressions so far are:
・I have come to understand what foreign exchange trading is
・I have started to be able to read charts to some extent
Although it has only been 10 days, I feel I have grown quite a bit.
I had a vague sense of aversion toward economics, but actually using my head and hands to do it really deepens my understanding.
Why don't you all try your hand at foreign exchange trading instead of building up stress watching soccer? (Hey!)
The championship is still ongoing, but I feel like I will continue foreign exchange trading with the remaining funds even after it ends.
If you don't understand something, just give it a try—this is a style I have always valued in my life, and I think these past 10 days were a perfect example of that in action.
Things are in a good state right now since I'm making a profit, but I still don't know how I should handle things when I take a loss, so I'd really like to experience that firsthand(?)
Well, I think I can wrap this up with some serious words for once, so I'll end it here for now. See you in tomorrow's post. (I'm also really enjoying Kochi)
