I started a home garden

Today, I pulled the weeds growing in the garden, laid down mulch (black plastic sheeting), set up planters, and planted the herb seeds I had been longing to grow.

Herbs are expensive when you buy them at the supermarket. I had thought it would be nice to have them easily accessible, but when I was involved in the design and implementation of a management system for a plant factory for work in the past, we ended up placing a small plant factory in the office to grow things. The maintenance for that was terrifyingly difficult... (and no one else would take care of it!). Thinking about that toil, I couldn't bring myself to start.

The other day, someone pushed me to start by saying, 'If you cook this much, you should try growing your own.' So, although it's small, I decided to start a home garden.

When I was in elementary school, I borrowed two rows in a neighborhood field to grow vegetables, but that was also hard work. There was no running water, so I had to lower a bucket tied to a rope into the river next to the field (two meters down) to draw water for irrigation. The man who lent me the field back then taught me many things, and some of that advice was useful again today. Sir, the things you taught me are still coming in handy. Thank you.

I like touching plants. At a previous workplace, a houseplant that had been gifted to us was dying because no one took care of it. I started tending to it as a last resort, and it began to sprout leaves and flowers one after another, leading people to call me the 'man with the green thumb' (laughs). Am I a Namekian? Am I the Hulk? Am I a Mutant Ninja Turtle?

My partner also likes houseplants and used to grow money trees and weeping figs, but I'm hopeless at it at home. My motivation comes from the desire to eat, so it might be a little different, but...

In any case, it is fun to move your body and live while feeling the life and the seasons. I plan to face this day by day from now on.
