There are dishes that are quietly sleeping in the back of my shelves at home.

Even though I welcomed them because I liked them, they didn't feel quite right when I went to use them,
or they were too precious to use.

Thinking, "I'll save this for a special occasion,"
that "special occasion" often never seems to come.

My favorite dishes that are still waiting for their turn.

Looking at them while thinking about how to use them,
or picking them up to enjoy how their expression changes in the light.
That kind of time is a small pleasure for a pottery lover, but──
