Please don't speak ill of Friday the 13th. (June 13th)

Today is Friday the 13th in June.
When you emphasize it with brackets, 'Friday the 13th' becomes unexpectedly concerning.

And if a black cat were to jump out in front of you right at this moment, you might think, 'It feels like all the bad luck in the world is about to rain down on me alone.'

Are you not feeling wrapped up in such anxiety?

But you know, as the saying 'illness is all in the mind' suggests,
everything depends on your state of mind.
What matters is how you choose to look at things.

While some people call black cats unlucky,
in the old city of Ypres, Belgium, where the beautiful townscape of the past remains, a 'Cat Festival' is held every three years.

At this festival, everyone dresses up as cats and parades through the old city, and the festival reaches its climax when 'black cat plushies' are tossed from the top of the bell tower.
Since package tours are organized from Japan, there must be cat lovers who have participated.

That might have been the case during the witch hunts of the Middle Ages, but here, cats might actually be symbols of good luck.

Although it feels like they are being pushed around by human whims—sometimes cast aside as 'harbingers of misfortune' and other times treated as 'lucky mascots'...
the cats themselves must surely be watching from a high vantage point, thinking, 'It's a disaster to get caught up in the chaos caused by fickle humans.'

Besides, one of my favorite German wines is a white wine (=Weißwein) produced in a village called Zell, which has a black cat depicted on the label (Schwarze Katz).
Naturally, in the village of Zell that produces this black cat wine, black cats (Schwarze Katz) are believed to bring good luck. Furthermore, they act as patrol guards in the cellars where wine barrels sleep, protecting the wine from mice.

It has that 'scent of white flowers' typical of German wine.
It is fruity, has a lower alcohol content than regular wine, and is gentle on the palate.
I really love it.

Also, while I'm at it, my birthday is on the 13th as well,
so no matter what anyone says, I want to defend the number 13 and say it is 'not unlucky'.

Above all, Friday is the day that, once you get through today, is 'Happy Friday'—a day with a joyful mood looking forward to the weekend break starting tomorrow, according to the calendar.

I've said a lot of things, but
in short, I just don't want you to worry too much about 'Friday the 13th'.
