【This Summer's Challenge! / Cherry Tomato Cultivation】~The World and the Heart Are Both Made of Gradations~542
Hello,
I'm Rieko Yairo.
Last time, I talked about the “Gutsy Morning Glory”. The morning glory was a happy surprise from seeds that spilled over last year.

Well,
this summer I cultivated cherry tomatoes.
I bought the seedlings from Pal System.
I think the name was... something like “Princess” or “Crimson”...?” I thought something like this might happen, so I put it somewhere...
☆Did I put it away somewhere? Or leave it somewhere?
★You should have put it away properly!
☆Yikes! You appeared, Dark Rieko★
★So, what's the name? The name tag? Did you have one?
☆I definitely had one, you know!😆

☆Somehow~ now that I see the name, I feel embarrassed and my cheeks turned red🤣
★Anyway~ neither “Princess” nor “Crimson” is in it at all!!
☆Well, well... it existed, so isn't that fine!
★Anyway~ these days, you should just put it in your smartphone.
☆That's true... and that's that.
★So, what were the results?
☆Yes! I was able to harvest a lot!🥰
Ah! It was properly in my smartphone😅

It's sure to be foolproof.🤣

I don't really understand what pinching is.🤔
In the front is basil. When I visited the garden of U-san, whom I met through reading picture books aloud, I mentioned that I was trying to grow cherry tomatoes. She said, 'If you put basil next to them, it has an insect-repellent effect, so take some,' and... I gratefully accepted it.
I sowed eggplant seeds in the brown planter in the back. It's currently in progress. I hope I can write an article about harvesting them someday...
Now then,
The yellow flowers are cute.
It's finally time.

become delicious.

Growing in clusters! How happy I am♪
(Did you know that 'suzunari' (growing in clusters) comes from 'kagura suzu' bells?)

They look like they could be sold in a store!

I fully enjoyed the straightforward sweetness of the KOIAJI cherry tomatoes.
Pinching (one of the maintenance tasks to promote the growth of vegetables and flowers) and additional fertilizing might have been better if done properly, but I was able to enjoy them fully, deliciously, and gratefully. There were still a few small ones left, but depending on the weather over the last few days, the harvest might be over.
Watering, growing, and harvesting small seedlings. Since I'm not a morning person, I watered them in the evening. I was fully protected with long sleeves, long pants, and insect repellent spray so I wouldn't get bitten by mosquitoes. This time wasn't as painful as I thought it would be.
Basil Thanks to the basil, I don't think there were any pests while growing the cherry tomatoes. I have to thank U-san, who told me to 'take some basil.' When I told her I was bad at growing plants, she laughed heartily and gave me the basil, saying, 'Basil is fine even if you leave it alone. It grows on its own,' and it really did grow on its own😆

Cherry tomatoes were good for a first-time cultivation. Even I was able to harvest them. I wonder about next year~🤔
Come to think of it, one of my friends, a person of many talents commonly known as Dora-chan is planning and executing self-sufficiency.
👇Take a look at this article
Dora-chan's cherry tomato was named 'Mini-Hime'~"Princess" is in the name, haha😅
Adding an update on my own
Dora-chan, sorry for reporting this after the fact~
Should I ask to become Dora-chan's apprentice...🤔

Apparently, they dried plums and red shiso
Crushing the red shiso to make yukari

They are also making miso(@_@)
Tomatoes and shiso leaves are grown from seeds
That's amazing...👏👏👏
☆Rieko's path to self-sufficiency is still a long way off🤣
★You're just lacking motivation, aren't you
☆Did you figure me out😆
That's all for today.
