The music selection at the Burger King in front of the station hit me so hard that I was late for pickup.
Hello everyone, it's Haruty!
Today, I'm going to talk about...
“You seriously never know what will resonate with others!”
that kind of topic.
The other day, while I was working, I got incredibly hungry. Before going to pick up my daughter from daycare, I went to the Burger King in front of the station.
…By the way, Haruty absolutely loves french fries. Not the thick, fluffy kind, but the crispy kind.
So, while eating my favorite fries, I was trying to write a note, but...
While people who were just looking for a quick snack were eating and leaving in a flash, my ears and consciousness were completely taken over by the music playing in the store, and I couldn't focus on my note at all.
Huh??? It was like they stole my phone! They were playing nothing but the songs I always listen to.
Well, since I started my business, I've been listening to audio learning materials whenever I have a chance, so these were songs I had been listening to every day until six months ago.
I'm the type who listens to songs by my favorite artists until they wear out, rather than listening to trendy songs.
I especially like Western music when I'm driving, like Taylor Swift, The Chainsmokers, or Ed Sheeran. (Sorry for being so personal, haha)
It wasn't anything trendy, so
I rarely have the chance to hear it
out in public, but
that Burger King
wasn't even playing Taylor Swift's greatest hits,
but rather songs that only a real fan would know,
playing nothing but seriously niche tracks.
Every time the next song came on,
I was like, 'Whoa!! You're playing that???
You guys have great taste (or ears?)!'
and I was just buzzing by myself.
When you listen to music, don't you ever
remember the times you used to listen to it?
Like, 'Oh, I remember playing this song
when I went for a drive with
that guy I used to like back then...' haha.
So, I got lost in a sentimental mood,
and when I suddenly realized,
the time was 17:29.
(*The scheduled time was 17:30)
OH NO!!!! This is bad!!!!!
I messed up!!
I rushed out of the store in a panic,
and at 31 years old, I was sweating buckets
running up the hill in front of the station,
covering a 5-minute walkin just 3 minutes.
In the end, I was 2 minutes late for the scheduled time.
Even one minute over is a no-go,
so I had no choice but to keep apologizing to the childcare worker...
I couldn't exactly tell them,
'I was late because I was feeling sentimental.' lol
I was so ashamed of myself.

Sometimes you get chosen
for the most unexpected reasons
◆━━━━━━━━━━━━━━◆
When I went into Burger King again a few days later,
it was all my favorite songs again.
I'm sure it's the manager's taste in music,
but I feel like our values are probably quite similar.
Actually, near this station,
if you go a little further, there's a McDonald's,
and there's also a Mos Burger.
The style is a bit different,
but there's also a Doutor.
There's even a bakery called Saint-Germain.
In short, it's a red ocean for dining out, but
the reason why customers choose one place over another
must be as varied as the number of people there.
In the end, I've become a regular at Burger King.
The reason being the "music playing in the store" might
seem a bit unusual, haha.
But since I end up going about twice a week
(is that too much? haha),
this Burger King has gained one regular customer
just because of their background music.
Information dissemination is also in an era of a red ocean
overflowing with similar content creators.
To get results without being buried,
it's all about how much "personality" you can show.
Personality doesn't mean originality!!
or coming up with a concept no one has ever seen before,
it means putting your experiences, values,
and background out there,
and being chosen for the person that is "you."
It's okay to be ignored by 99 out of 100 people.
Even so, if your words strike a chord with just one person,
that's enough.
If that one person buys a 300,000 yen product,
you've already reached 300,000 yen for the month.
The person currently receiving my consulting
told me this.
Hometown. University attended.
Working at a major corporation in Marunouchi, Tokyo.
They even felt a connection because we both played
volleyball in junior high and high school, haha.
It's a coincidence that makes you tremble in the real world,
but in the online world,
maybe it's not just a coincidence after all.
Not just about the past,
I even empathized with values like,
I don't want the other person to show their face during online meetings either.
I feel intimidated through the screen.
It's enough of a chance to have people see you
by saying you empathize
with even those kinds of values.
You never know what will resonate with others
until you put it out there.
It might be 'favorite music,' just like it was for me.
There is absolutely no need to overthink it.
Take what you've learned from your own experiences and your values,
and output them, even if it's just a 140-character tweet.
Starting from there is just fine. ^^

P.S.
I am giving away a book for free
where you can learn about online business.
I have written down everything
about the secret to why I am chosen
even in a red ocean market.
I am receiving feedback one after another
that it became a catalyst for changing their way of life...
Something might hit home for you too. ^^
