The theory that 'someday' never comes
Hello, I'm Nana.
Thursday is almost over.
It's the weekend.
…Though being a mom is a 24/7 job (rolling eyes).
Well, today's topic might hit a little close to home.
Please, gather your courage and stick with me (lol).
When is 'someday' anyway?
That's a common thing for me when I'm trying to start something, not just when it comes to posting content.
I'm sure I'm not the only one, though.
When I have time…
When I've saved enough money…
When I get better at it…
It's that thing where you put off something you want to try, even though no one is stopping you, and then you end up never doing it at all.
Tomorrow's tomorrow is just another tomorrow.
Ichi's drive to act
My son Ichi, whether it's due to his ADHD traits or just his personality, says he rarely feels anxious (according to him).
When he wants to do something, he starts without even thinking about whether he can or can't do it.
He wants to do everything at school and raises his hand for everything, so even teachers from other departments know him.
I'm the type who doesn't want to do anything troublesome, so I was just like, 'No way' (o_O).
I was truly surprised when I found out the other day that Ichi had drawn an illustration and posted it on a certain site.
I thought, 'I could never do that!'
But the answer that came from Ichi's mouth was an eye-opener.
'How many people do you think would even find my drawing among all those posts?'
'And how many of those people do you think would actually say, "You suck!"?'
'People aren't looking at you as much as you think they are, so no matter how bad you are, you should just go for it. You'll get better as you keep drawing.'
And so, he continued to post at a pace of about one drawing a month, and he actually received likes and comments from several people.
He was very happy.
Thank you.
Things I started because my son taught me
Weekdays are spent chasing work, weekends are spent chasing housework,
and somehow I've been 'pretending' I don't have time.
That's just for me, though.
I do have time to look at my phone. (I usually fall asleep doing it.)
I have commute time, and I have a lunch break, too.
It's not that I realized that… actually.
I knew it, honestly.
I decided to use that time to take in information and increase my note articles, even if just a little bit.
That is this note.
I tried throwing away the illusion of a 'perfect timing' that never existed in the first place.
I also stopped thinking, 'If only I were more…'
When I tried it, it was surprisingly okay (lol).
I can just rewrite and update it as many times as I want.
Once you overcome the wall of 'someday',
the next wall is 'consistency'.
I'll share what I learn again!
I'm truly happy that you read to the end today as well.
Thank you!
See you later.
