How to Create 'Metaphors' That Stick in Readers' Memories | Black Owl's Metaphorical Retort Course

Egg Owl had been troubled by something lately.
Egg Owl: "People read my articles. But..."
Doctor Owl: "But?"
Egg Owl: "By the next day, everyone forgets the content."
Doctor Owl: "I see."
Egg Owl: "They tell me, 'I learned a lot!' but when I ask them what they learned, they can't answer..."
Doctor Owl: "That is serious."
Just then...
Black Owl: "The cause is clear."
Black Owl suddenly interrupted.
Black Owl's Incomprehensible Metaphor Course
Black Owl: "Your writing lacks metaphors!"
Egg Owl: "Metaphors?"
Black Owl: "Yes! For example..."
Black Owl: "Writing is... like the quantum energy of a galactic railway drifting through the universe!"
Egg Owl: "...Huh?"
Black Owl: "Furthermore!"
Black Owl: "Copywriting is like a dragon lurking in the deep sea dancing on the moon!"
Egg Owl: "...I don't understand what that means."
Black Owl: "That's the art of it!"
Egg Owl: "No, no, no!"
Dr. Owl's Sharp Retort
Dr. Owl: "Black"
Black Owl: "What is it?"
Dr. Owl: "That's not a metaphor, that's a riddle."
Egg Owl: "Exactly."
Dr. Owl: "The purpose of a metaphor isn't to sound cool. It's to make something difficult to understand, easier to understand."
Lesson 1: A Metaphor is a 'Translator'
Dr. Owl: "Egg, when people try to understand something they don't know, they always replace it with something they do know to understand it."
Egg Owl: "With something they know?"
Dr. Owl: "Yes."
For example...
❌ Without metaphor
Copywriting is a technique for understanding customer psychology and prompting action.
⭕️ With metaphor
Copywriting is a 'signpost for the heart.'
It guides readers so they can proceed to their destination without getting lost.
Egg Owl: "Oh! I can visualize this much better!"
Dr. Owl: "That is the power of a metaphor."
Lesson 2: Excellent metaphors are 'visible'
Dr. Owl: "Good metaphors have common traits."

For example...
When explaining the importance of 'writing structure'
❌ Writing structure is important.
⭕️ Writing structure is like a 'house blueprint.' Just as a house built without a blueprint will collapse, writing without a structure will leave the reader lost.
When explaining the importance of a 'title'
❌ The title is important.
⭕️ The title is like a 'store sign.' If the sign isn't attractive, no one will come into the store.
Egg Owl: "I definitely get it instantly!"
Lesson 3: Use metaphors to 'get remembered'
Dr. Owl: "Actually, the primary goal of a metaphor isn't 'understanding,' but 'memory.'"
Egg Owl: "Memory?"
Dr. Owl: "Yes."
People forget logic. But they remember images.
Dr. Owl: "That's why excellent writers try to leave images in the reader's mind."
Black Owl's Counterargument
Black Owl: "Then wouldn't it be the best if I just put in 100 metaphors?"
Dr. Owl: "No."
Black Owl: "Huh?"
Dr. Owl: "Metaphors are like spices."
Dr. Owl: "What happens if you put 100 types of spices into a curry?"
Black Owl: "It would taste bad."
Dr. Owl: "Exactly."
Egg Owl: "Black-san, you're a great cautionary tale again today."
Black Owl: "Don't I get treated like that a lot lately?"
Growth: Egg Owl's Transformation
That night, Egg Owl rewrote the article.

It is important to build a relationship of trust with the reader.

Trust is like a 'bank account.' Only those who deposit value on a daily basis can make a withdrawal when the time comes.
Egg Owl: "Wow! I feel like it suddenly makes sense!"
The next morning's comment section
📩 "The bank account analogy was super easy to understand!"
📩 "Thanks to the metaphor, the content stuck in my head!"
📩 "I still remember the story about the sign!"
Egg Owl: "Yes! The text has become a visual!"
Summary Lesson
A metaphor is a translator that makes difficult topics simple.
And it is a magic that leaves images in the reader's mind.
When explaining something difficult, try thinking, "What is this similar to?".
That one phrase might turn your writing into "unforgettable writing".
