[2-Minute Read Column] The Difference Between Those Whose Wishes Come True When Wishing on a Shooting Star and Those Whose Don't
The Power of "Speaking" Your Wishes
I have long told people to "speak what you want to become out loud."
This is because the value of repeating it over and over is immeasurable.
However, the important thing here is that saying "I want to be" is not enough.
You must state it definitively as "I will be."
This is the turning point for whether it comes true or not.
When Wishing on a Shooting Star
When you spot a shooting star, do you make a wish in your heart?
However, people are divided into those whose wishes come true and those whose don't.
If you think it's "all up to luck," the answer is in my past column.
I would be happy if you could read it when you have the time.
There is a common trait among people whose wishes come true.
That is that they are always speaking their dreams out loud.
The Meaning of the Kanji for "Come True" (叶)
The character "叶" (kanaeru) is made up of the characters for "mouth" (口) and "ten" (十).
In other words, it means that saying it out loud ten times is just about right.
Just thinking about it in your heart is not enough.
This is because the person who hears your voice the most is yourself.
That is why, even if you suddenly see a shooting star—
if you are someone who habitually repeats your dreams out loud, you can recite it three times immediately.
Conversely, people who don't regularly speak their dreams aloud will find themselves overthinking in that moment.
For such people, their wishes are unlikely to come true.
The concept of a friendship bracelet is the same
The idea behind a 'friendship bracelet' (misanga), which is said to make wishes come true, is similar.
By wearing it while focusing on your wish, you see it constantly on your wrist or ankle.
Therefore, it is harder to forget your dream, and easier to take action toward it.
In other words, creating an environment where you can repeatedly stay conscious of your wish without forgetting it is the secret to making it come true.
Summary
Even when wishing on a shooting star, there are those whose wishes come true and those whose don't.
The difference is 'whether or not you regularly speak your dreams aloud'.
State it definitively as 'I will' rather than 'I want to'
Say it out loud many times, not just ten
Have a system in place to not forget your dream
By simply incorporating these three things into your daily life, you will move one step closer to realizing your dream.
